This café is in the gardens in front of Torre Abbey. As its name implies it is decorated with an eclectic mix of art and craftwork from around the world. 'World music' is always playing creating a great atmosphere to enjoy a coffee or lunch. Attentive service with smile.

We visit this lovely cafe each year when we visit Torquay. We have not yet been disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. The sandwiches were extremely well presented and tasty and the toasted tea cake lovely. The staff who served us were friendly and made time for a quick chat and the cafe itself has a unique style of decor. Even the dogs get given a little bowl of doggy treats so everyone is happy.

We visited this bistro the first time last Saturday, mainly because it was close to the crazy golf and a convenient car park. We visited again two days later because of the wonderful previous experience.

Our first visit was at 12.15, so I couldn't have Eggs Benedict, because the breakfast menu finished at noon, however the cream cheese and smoked salmon salad was a delicious substitute, the white bread bun was warm and crispy, the fish cake was not padded out with potato, the steak sandwich was a little tough in parts but still very edible and the beefburger was moist. We all had the 'Fair Trade' cola (sorry, I can't remember it's proper name) which I don't think was any more expensive than 'normal' cola, and did have more taste to it. The date and walnut flapjack was a generous slice and was very filling.

Our second visit was again after mid day, but the piri piri chicken and the satay chicken rustic sandwiches were delicious. The portions were large, the salad served with each dish is well dressed and various leaves are used, the bread used is soft and scrummy!

I don't know who this scary person is, but we were served by such friendly and efficient ladies and gentleman, who had a ready smile and cheerful manner, even when there was not an empty table to be seen.

I rather think the popularity of this bistro is increasing, as on both occasions the outside area was full, however, there is a good sized interior dining area, it seems a shame to miss the sunshine, statues and roses outside. I ought to mention that the furniture is very sturdy and good quality as this has to be borne in mind when a person is disabled and needs good support when rising from the chairs.

The shop was closed on the Monday, but there was still a selection of soaps, ornaments, CDs and josh sticks to buy.

It is virtually impossible to find anywhere half decent in Torquay for lunch, not least because it is a place I rarely visit. We came across this place though by chance after looking round Tore Abbey. I highly recommend it, they provided a good range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc. as well as more substantial fare in the form of burgers and so forth.

A great atmosphere and a fun place tucked out of the way. Well worth a visit!

We had been to a craft fair at the Riviera Centre with friends one afternoon and, although all four of us have been to Torquay on numerous occasions, none of us had realised this café was there ! We only had drinks( I had a cream tea) but the décor and atmosphere were lovely. We will definitely return next time we are in Torquay.
