We stooped for lunch and loved every minute of our stay. The food was fantastic and cooked on site. The cakes were great and the salad spot on. The upstairs is well laid out for a relaxing meal.

Visiting Torquay & looking for a nice café for tea & cake. The ladies in Laura Ashley recommended Serendipity (which is almost opposite). A lovely selection of patisserie at reasonable prices. Friendly staff - would definitely recommend. I wish there was a café like this near to my home!

Looking for lunch and tired of wandering from restaurant to restaurant offering the same boring panninis, sandwiches or deep fried stuff from the cash and carry we found this little gem of a place. We were after a snack bit of a difference, and found it here. We both had home-made pate with granary toast and a selection of pickles (one of which was home-made red onion marmalade) and a salad. Served on a wooden platter. It was quite "delicious". With a glass of rose wine and some water to accompany, followed by one of the best individual pavlova's either of us had ever seen. All the main meals we saw delivered there looked delicious too and their gateaux, patisserie, whatever are some of the most eye-watering you can see in Devon. And at such a reasonable price ! Superb.

My husband and I went with our 3 year old and sleeping baby and they couldn't have been more welcoming. We had a strawberry tart, black forest gateaux and a fruit laden meringue, all of which were delicious and far nicer than any cake from patisserie Valerie. Great service and very special treats, we wish we had found it earlier on our holiday!
