Description: Open for lunch and dinner, the Cary Arms is a 5 star inn with luxury accommodation and exceptional panoramic sea-views. Choose from dining outdoors on sunnier days or a cosy table in the inn by the fireside. The Conservatory is perfect for larger parties and can be booked for exclusive use subject to availability. Reservations for dining are always recommended if you are not staying. Lunch is served from 12 noon to 3pm and dinner from 6.30pm to 9pm. If you haven't reserved in advance, we will always try to find you a table but we can't guarantee it. Relaxed and friendly, the lunch menus include a choice of soup and lighter snacks as well as sandwiches. In the evening, dining is more formal and the location very romantic. Menus include classic gastro-inn dishes featuring the best of fresh, seasonal, locally produced ingredients including excellent fish. Great wine list and a choice of local ales. Well-behaved children and dogs welcome. An adjacent car park offers pay-and display parking.

“Lovely lunch”
Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

We met friends here on Sunday. I've eaten at the Cary Arms on a few occasions and never been overly impressed with the food and service. However yesterday was very good. I had the Cajun salmon which was excellent, my son had the pork which he really enjoyed (He did mention that the parsnips didn't taste too good though), and my daughter had the kids chicken goujons. She did say that she would have liked some peas or beans with it as it only came with chips. This was served very efficiently by a lovely friendly young waitress. We had sticky toffee pud which was fab, thoroughly recommend it and the white choc and bailey's parfait which we felt was lacking in bailey's and raspberries! The Pinot grigio blush went down rather well too! What with the sunshine, a view to die for, great company, we all had a rather lovely lunch. Thank you

“Would have been excellent if the parking was free!”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We visited the Cary Arms to attend an Agatha Christie evening. Food was a set menu in the conservatory. Great food, great service, superb location. The only thing that let the place down was that you have to park in the pay and display beach carpark which for an evening was £4 for 4 hours. This meant our evening ended up feeling a little rushed.
I understand that there is a resident's car park which was free - but exclusively for residents!

“Great food”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

The breakfast choice was vast, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereal, cooked, smoked salmon, Isle of Man Kippers or Pancakes.

There is always a couple of specials in addittion to a very comprehensive menu which caters for lots of tastes. The use of local meat and of course fish is to be applauded.

“Great gastro-pub”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Visited several times, as a couple, a family and in a large group of friends, always had excellent service and good food in a brilliant location.

The specials are very good and seasonal local produce, homemade breads and dips always go down very well. Never any issues with special dietary requirements. The Christmas menu was very good as well - no dry turkey here!
Yes it's one of the more expensive restaurants in the area but worth a visit if you're on holiday or want a treat.

Tip: park at the top of the hill and walk down and back up to burn off dinner! Or get a taxi....the hill is steep, very steep!

“Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, wonderful food”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

We used to come here a lot with the family and our dog because we loved the idea of doggy lunches and the general feel of fhe restaurant. On a hot day, you can enjoy the lovely views outside and in the winter, get a cosy table by the fireplace. The food was always ok but not too special. We recently came back, after a few months break and couldn't believe our taste buds! Gorgeous seabass was to die for and the desserts were simply amazing! It was the best brownie I ever had and my husband always loved a good sticky toffee pudding. The dog did not complain about her chicken with rice either as it disappeared from her bowl in 30 seconds! The staff were very friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome, as always. We'll be back soon, this time with kids... :)
