My wife and i have been staying on a regular basis at Burley Court since 1996.
We stay there every year and are always made very welcome by Simon and Beryl and and Aidan Palmer who manage the apartments. The apartments are always kept spotlessly clean and the grounds and facilities are also well maintained and updated from time to time.
We have no plans to stay anywhere else in Torquay as Burley Court suits us down to the ground and Simon and Beryl and Aidan have always looked after us very well.

My extended family and I rented 3 of these apartments for the half term week in October 2011 and found them pretty shabby. The hot water in 2 of the apartments was erratic at best, dangerous at worse - the showers would turn from freezing to scalding while you were in them. The indoor pool was so filthy that after a couple of days of braving it, and letting the management know to no effect, we had to give up using it all together. The water was cloudy and the layer of scum and bits floating was enough to make us feel quite queasy.
The owners were pleasant enough, and we realise that we went off-peak, however this apartment block feels like it needs a total overhaul. We certainly won't be returning or recommending it to anyone.

Stayed here for one week with the family. The owners are friendly and helpful. The place is clean with two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) absolutely ideal for families with young kids. Our apartment did have outdated decor but it was very clean and furnished. There is also ample parking on site. The apartments are a short walk away from the seafront and has a good bus service. The No 12 bus takes you into the town centre from where you can get other buses to visit the many of the attractions Torquay has to offer. All the amentities are within walking distance. Will definately recommend this place.

Room Tip: Save one pound coins for the electricity - approx £3-4 per day are needed

I went with my partner and another couple for a mates' getaway. We stayed in the last week in June in one of the top floor apartments and it worked out to be £109 each for 7 nights. There are some amenities on site which include an outdoor and small indoor pool. As well as a solarium, table tennis and pool tables (we had a good laugh with these).

The location is good with ample parking. You are only a short walk from the seafront and about a mile and a half from the Torquay's harbour. Although the apartments are 1970's style you cannot be too critical at the prices. Staff were always friendly and helpful when needed. Wifi was free and they have wireless APs scattered throughout so signal was always excellent.

My only criticism is that there was a coin operated electricity meter which was not disclosed until we arrived. However we only needed £1 a day to power the tv, a wii and basics.
