Ate in the restaurant and found it expensive. The food was ok if a little greasy. The chips and the fish were both a little 'dry' in texture. Finding decent fish and chips is always pot luck and i'm sure there are better in Torquay.

We had the take away and ate up on babbacombe downs during armed forces parade. We all had cod and chips and all agreed it was lovely, fish was on par with our other favorite fish take away on the area and chips were yummy too. Although the prices are a bit steep the fish is a good size and obviously fresh, we had medium cod's but they looked more like large and the batter was lovely and bubbly and crisp. The free fridge magnets were a nice touch, especially for the tourists who like to have a keep sake of everywere they go (yes that would be me)

Things aint the same..The prawn and smoked salmon salad was boring. No coleslaw, potato salad and had to ask for mayonaisse.. Cod and chips...........mmmm Chips soft and not fresh.. Others went with us...and the gougons were a little scarce.. All in all an expensive night when things could have been much better. Also, our near table neighbour left after one course as they thought it was not value for money..Staff good though. They were busy, and turning people away, so it may have been just us.

I used to dine here often when I came to Torquay on business and now retired, I came back, after two years to see if it was as good. And it IS !! Great atmosphere, spotless, and excellent service and value. And of course the food - well I can't fault the quality of the fish - nicely cooked with lovely crispty batter. A pity the chips were a bit limp but I'll forgive that this time ! In all a nice dining experience. Try it if you visit Torbay - you will not be disappointed..
