Hanbury's sell wonderfully tasting, resonably prices food with friendly and helpful staff. There is nothing better than grabbing some fish and chips and going to sit on the downs whilst looking out to sea. Also every year Hanbury's hold a music festival. My partner and I went this year and had a brilliant time, we will be booking time off to go again next year!

Was expecting a taste sensation, but barely had any taste at all. Nice chunky chips, a bit pale in colour though, nice light batter on the fish, but was all very bland, medium cod not quite big enough for a hungry adult. Would say they would make the best picture of fish and chips should you want to take a picture, but that's all. Both myself and my wife had the same opinion. Free insulated bag was a nice touch.

Do book in advance if you want to eat in this restaurant as it's always busy. Having won many prestigious awards for their fish n chips over the years, I can see why. The standard is very high, the service is great & the fish absolutely melts in your mouth. The menu is uncomplicated & easy to choose from, but do also check the specials board for that extra special something. My fish was in batter which was light & crispy & the best I have ever tasted. My companions fish was pan fried & also truly delicious. The chips, we both agreed were a little pale & not on the crispy side which was the only slight let down. We had ordered a crunchy salad as well to accompany the meal which was really fresh & prettily arranged though totally unnecessary as the main meal portion was more than enough. A great night out, & if you don't want to sit down & go posh, you can take away at the traditional fish n chip shop nextdoor.

Always fresh and clean looking fish and chips. Would have given it excellent if they hadn't stopped doing the monkfish goujons. A particular favourite of mine, will return though, repeatedly.
