We stayed for 3 nights in a one bedroom self-catering apartment which is located inside the hotel complex, and was very comfortable and a good size for 3 people. It had a full array of cooking facilities and was cleaned every day.

The hotel is part of a complex with several other hotels and apparently has 17 bars, indoor bowls, an amusement arcade and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The indoor pool has an Aztec theme and is a good size for swimming. There are a steam room and sauna attached, and free lockers.

The hotel itself is comfortable if slightly faded with a small reception area. The location is fine, just up the hill from the seafront. There is a room for left luggage, although this isn't locked so security may be an issue. There are plenty of activities going on in the complex, something for everyone. The indoor bowls seemed particularly popular at most times of day.

Room Tip: The apartment is a good choice if you're not bothered about a hotel breakfast and wish to prepare your own.

We stayed in a two bed apartment within this enormous hotel chain!
Ideal cheaply priced accomodation, within a easy walking distance of the sea, harbour, boat trips, shops, cafes and restaurants.
Self catering accom was very clean and adequate but could do with a bit of an update. Perfect for us thugh as it was clean, close to amenities and cheap for us, a family of 5.
Staff pleasant, choice of pools, cafes, bars and restaurants plus entertainment within the hotel, we choose to eat out though. All in all a good 4 day break

Room Tip: We stayed in room 39, this was advertised as a room for 5, it was in fact a 2 bed apartment

Another enjoyable weekend in Torquay! We try to get away for a few days around Easter every year and one of the TLH hotels is always our destination. The staff were great and the food was lovely however The Victoria Hotel does need some TLC.

Positives: very clean rooms and friendly staff so the staff should give themselves a gold star.
Negatives: they don't think about the small sinple things like supplying a tea spoon to stir ur coffee or a sugar bowl , lack of choice of coffee in room, bread rolls instead of crossings for continental breakfast.
The gym wasn't free which isn't stated when u book through a company and the life guards don't watch the kids coming in and out of the sauna and steam rooms which was not only dangerous as they were climbing around and putting plastic cups on the heaters which made it very unrelaxing and cold. My partner is vegetarian so we had to eat away from the hotel due to lack of choice if any. And I'm not usually a bad sleeper but I was uncomfortable both nights and didn't sleep well.

This was our annual visit for a hosted dance week-end in the Warwick Ballroom. Friday and Saturday evening in the ballroom was as good as usual. On Sunday we decided to visit the Starlight Lounge for "family entertainment". Very disappointing. The programme said children's entertainment till 9-00pm. At 10-00pm they were still being encouraged onto the dance floor!!!

Room Tip: Try negotiating your price
