“Brilliant stay!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

I stayed at the Sandpiper lodge with my partner and two young sons. It was fantastic, Lyn and John were very friendly and made us feel welcome. They also gave us lots of pointers as to things we could do during our stay. The rooms were wonderful, spacious and clean with great decoration. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. We had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend the Sandpiper Lodge!

We were greeted by Lynn and John with a smile followed by a cup of tea, biscuits and a chat - just what we needed after a long journey. They were very friendly and helpful. Several of the guests were regulars. The breakfast was very good and they also provided a picnic lunch and evening meal given a bit of notice at extra cost. The room was comfortable and clean. It's a ten minute walk to the beach and about twenty minutes to Torquay centre. Cockington village is a twenty minute walk. I was impressed whenLynn gave one of the guests a lift to the bus station one morning, I would stay here again.

Lynne & John are very welcoming people who do all they can to make you feel at home. On arriving we were offered drinks & biscuits and had a chat for a while before been taken to our room. The room was comfortable & clean and had all the extras you needed tea & coffee making facilities just to name one ( sorry we didn't drink all the tea Lynn lol ). Breakfast was gorgeous always plenty even without all the extra Lynn would offer. It was nice to be able to have a chat & laugh with both Lynne & John, they really did make us feel welcome and worked hard to make our stay perfect. We would definitely stay again, Jayne & Gary

John and Lynn are lovely people who made our stay excellent. We were offered refreshment as soon as we arrived after a very long and tiring journey which was gratefully recieved. The rooms are very comfortable and had all that was needed.Breakfast was cooked fresh to order. Nothing was too much effort for John or Lynn, a real home from home. We would recommend The Sandpiper Lodge to anyone and have full intentions of returning later in the year :-) x

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor at the front and was very comfortable.

My boyfriend and I love Torquay, we have been a few times now (its like our little place) This is the second time we have stayed at the Sandpiper Lodge, and as before, it was excellent!
We were even put in the same room as last time, it was lovely and clean, the food was still fantastic, We're still missing those fry ups!
John and Lyn are a lovely couple, always up for a chat and a laugh, are very welcoming and they'll let you know all about the area, the places to go and all of the local pubs!
We even got engaged this last visit! so it was a fantastic weekend away all round! John and Lyn even kept our Champagne cold for us and provided us with a few flutes so we could celebrate properly!
I cannot even explain how fantastic this place is, its great value for money and not far from the main high street (i'd say a 10-15 minute walk) and you can walk right through the local Abbey gardens to get to it.
I love Torquay and I love this guesthouse, we will definitely be coming back for a third, fourth, fifth time...

Room Tip: The only room we have stayed in was right at the front of the Lodge, the road is very busy at times...
