Needed a much-earned rest & chose Torquay in Devon. The Premier Inn right on the sea-front didn't disappoint, - superb hotel with character, ambience, staffed by friendly, professional people. Back soon.

Being an avid fan of Premier Inns I decided while visiting Torquay to see a show at the Princess Theatre, decided to drop into the Torquay Premier Inn, having stayed in their before it became part of Premier Inn it was interesting to see the changes they have made to make it a much more enjoyable stay. Very comfortable lovely food available on the menu, great air conditioning, very much needed during the heat wave we have been having. The comfort you get at a Premier Inn is very superior when you compare it with the price you need to pay for your room. Will certainly be using this hotel again when visiting, only a few minutes away from the theatre and for disabled users the is a facility where you can get rent a mobility scooter for your stay and have it there at the hotel on arrival, one thing that I expect we will use occasionally

Stayed here for 3 nights after having stayed at Premier Inn Blossom Street South, York a few days earlier, so difficult to not compare the two and I think that may be the problem. Everything about the York Premier Inn was spot on, but I just didn't get the feel that others seem to have for the Torquay one. I realise the premises are old, but it does feel a little tired. The room was spacious enough, there was a large water stain on the roof which was unsightly, however, the room was clean and the air-conditioning worked well. We were given a room at the rear on the first floor with a view of the kitchen roof, we did ask if there was room with a view, but were told politely that they were fully booked and we should have phoned ahead. Public areas could have been cleaner and the entrance could do with modernising. We were able to book the room for £49 per night, which for mid July was excellent. Had we left it any later, the price would have risen to £106 per night, which I do not think would have been good value. All in all, not bad, but could have been better. Location was perfect, just off the sea front and a short walk to the harbour.

Room Tip: Ask ahead for a room with a view.

The hotel was convenient for access to the town and surround area. The from was clean tidy and comfortable. The only critism was that there was a smell of damp in the corridor leading to the room and room 30 backed onto the hotels bin area, which on the Sunday morning at 5:30 was being cleaned out and bins emptied. However on complaint to reception I was refunded my nights accommodation without quibble or question.

Excellent facilities in room which was spacious and clean. Great pub food right on site - no having to go outside to get to it. Friendly staff and even after bar was closed we were still able to use the bar seating area to continue to chat with friends. Definitely will go back again.
