I have been staying at Premier Inns very often recently for work and would rate most as good, one or two as awful and this one as exceptional!

Stayed two nights in August 2011 as part of a tour of Devon and Cornwall. Mom and Dad plus lanky teenager !

Was quite expensive at £140 a night but this was prime season and the rate was still better than many B&Bs in Torquay for the same period.

The hotel has a very fine location, and is a quite impressive old building. The car park seems to always be full, so I parked on the council car park behind the hotel at the cost of a tenner per 24 hours.

Check in was efficient, and reception was efficient and comfortable. Our room was spacious and respectably appointed with an LCD TV, tea-making facilities and a small wardrobe.

Main bed comfortable but quite small: double rather than queen or king sized. On arrival the bed for my son was not pulled out or made up. It took a couple of calls to reception before the night manager eventually came out to do this for us.

Only one bath towel and one hand towel per room is not enough when three folks are staying. Again a call to reception bought a second set.

Room was respectably quiet despite being at street level, and we had a good night's sleep.

Breakfast was something of a scrum in the morning, not unexpected since the hotel seems to be chock full of families. As usual at Premier inns the breakfast repast was plentiful and varied.

The hotel is very well located for exploring Torquay on foot, and we walked many miles during our stay.

Despite the premium price tag during our high season-stay I could find little to fault in the Premier Inn Torquay, and will surely stay there again when I have need. Clean, comfortable and with a good night's sleep, this hotel has everything needed in a holiday hotel IMO. recommended.

we stayed at the Premier Inn in Torbay, very near sea front and Torquay theatre, good welcome from staff. Breakfast was a little disappointing but loads of it. Dinner was good value for money

Been to many Premier Inns, this is by far the best location overlooking the sea and very central. Rooms on the front overlook the sea but quite a busy road. Parking was limited as the hotel was so busy being attached to the Beefeater and open to everyone. We had an evening meal in the Beefeater, fillet steak was cooked to perfection, Coleslaw best I've ever tasted but the lighting on some tables was too bright and warm but the staff were happy for me to swap tables. My favourite wine was available and cocktails were well-priced, recommend the 'Woo Woo.
Breakfast was over-priced.
Long way from the table to the food area so spent more time walking back and forth. Suggest tea and coffee be brought to the table by waiting staff to ease congestion.
Found eating in the centre of Torquay for breakfast was cheaper and waitress service available.
i have been quite critical on this review to assist Premier Inn/ Beefeater to make these improvements but I would give our stay there a 9/10 and would highly recommend this one and will definitely revisit with the £39 per room per night option as my sister lives nearby.

I stayed at the Premier Inn from Friday to Monday at a cost of £29.00 per night for a double room which in my opinion was excellent value for money. The reason for my visit was to watch Rotherham United play Torquay United on the Saturday and myself and my wife along with my son and his partner and grandson decided to make a weekend holiday taking in the game as well.
The staff were very friendly and thier knowledge of the area and attractions were very good as on the Sunday we took a visit to Paighton Zoo on the recomendation of one of the staff and a good day was had by all.
The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything you needed within it, the beefeater restaurant on site was excellent and offered good value for money meals, we did eat at the hotel and also out of the hotel and the food we had at the hotel was excellent.
The only fault I had with our stay was the car parking facilities as with the beefeater restaurant being onsite the car park was full the majority of our stay, I would recommened if at all possible that the hotel seperate the car parks and have a seperate area for hotel resident parking only.
All in all an excellent stay was had and I would recommened anyone visiting Torquay to look at this hotel which is situated on the seafront and only a very short stroll to the harbour and all amenities. If you book early you can get excellent discounts too.

Room Tip: Rooms in the rear off the building will be quieter.

We had a very clean and comfortable room on the second floor. It overlooked the park and part of the promenade. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only fault were delays of up to 30 minutes waiting to order dinner in the restaurant, although all the staff seemd to be working very hard. The Meal Deal menu was a shorter version of the full Beafeater menu, but we still had a wide choice of each course and drink.Would recommend this hotel to others and would stay again.

Recently stayed at this hotel for two days at the special rate of £79 per room for the two days It is a well run hotel and was very clean especially the bathroom even though we were in the older part of the building, the rooms were great and clean with usual facilities<coffee, tea and ample clean towels. There is a very efficient car parking system that allows you to park in the municipal car park free with pass issued at the reception,it ajoins the hotel. There is a very good sea facing lounge bar with reasonable prices there is also a Beafeater restaurant in the buildingwith the usual meal facilities and a VERY good english breakfast. In all a very good and reasonable place to stay made even more so as I grew up in Torquay When it was in its hayday 50s 60s.

Room Tip: front with sea views good but rear and side great as they are very quiet
