“Great on a sunny day”

Away from the Park the village has a lovely "Old England feel" fantastic to get away from the rat race. Lots of people give up their time to run the Old Forge gift shop and other shops which offer good value items of interest. We planned to stay a few hours and move on but stayed over 5 hours in the end enjoying the Village/Park

“Crafts in a peaceful setting”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

Cockington Court is a beautiful hall set in large grounds. The village itself is found about 3/4 of a mile from Torquay seafront down a narrow country lane. You emerge in the village by the Rose cottage and find 1 of the car parks to the right. There is another new car park to be found next to the Drum Inn which takes you to the rear of the Court. However of the 2 I prefer the one in the village, for though the other is very handy it is very narrow and NOT 1 way. The Court itself boasts many craft ventures including a glass maker, iron worker and a rocking horse maker. There are artists works on show and many great gifts to buy. A cafe is to be found at the court if you want to have a rest before exploring the village. From the Court you can explore the beautiful historical church and the walk or take a horse trap down the drive to the shops. The blacksmiths and other cottages are beautiful and you can rest at the Rose Cottage or Drum inn. A lovely walk can also be taken round the large grounds.

“Excellent way to spend a day”

Explore the lush undergrowth and paths around the ponds. Enjoy the beautiful chapel near the main Hall and sit & reflect in the nearby rose garden. A very English, very lovely place where you can find peace and quiet away from other visitors with very little effort.

“Hills”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

Cocklington village and house are beautifull, But if you have problems walking, the hills are quite a drag, there was no sign of the horse and carriage the day we went. but all in all a beautifull place to sit and recharge your batteries. The little church is a quaint old building which still holds weddings.
