Me and my family stay at Appletorres for a week and we found Mrs Moon a friendly and helpful person. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend this place to others. It is close to the main town and we found the bus service very helpful. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks miss L corbin and family

Thank you for sparing the time to do a review, after delays to your holiday I am pleased that the date that you finally managed was enjoyable, although it was later in the season and I must admit the bus service is hard to beat for its convenience and regularity. Hope to see you and your family again and that you have a lovely Christmas in your new home.

After our recent stay at appletorre I was disappointed overall, the rooms, although clean smelt of damp upon arrival and damp could clearly be seen on one of the walls. The rooms were cold and relied on us putting pound coins in an old fashioned meter to run the one electric heater that was supplied, which at times was not adequate to heat a large room and costly to run. The televisions were also dated and on numerous occasions decided to turn themselves off. Overall I would not recommend appletorre house for anything apart from the location and the service.

If you have any problems with a stay at a place surely you should come and see the owners/manager of your accommodation to sort things out for you before airing it on trip advisor as that is why i am on the premises to sort things out. Firstly the wall you say is damp is not, when we redecorated the room earlier in the year some of the plaster came off with the wall paper so after refilling the holes and painting a few weeks later the new plaster decided to react with the old causing it to bubble but as the season had already started we decided as it was just bumpy we would leave it until bookings slowed to try again. The television is not flat screened unlike nearly all the other rooms but it has a good picture and a digi box for all the up to date programs so if you could not work out how to use it, you should have asked, no one else has had this problem. September was not that cold we still have not had a frost yet and its now November, you could not have had the fire on very long because the meter was emptied out after you and the next people had it out a total of 7 days and £6 was taken out, so that's not a fortune used. Thank you for pointing out the good size of rooms and that we are clean establishment

We've been staying at the appletorre house since 2003. It's a lovely place, very clean and well equipped, the flats have got all what you need. The owners are extremely nice and the location of the place is excellent; very close to the train station and bus stop, pubs and shops just round the corner, and downton Torquay, the seafront and the Riviera centre are fairly close too (No more than a few minutes walk).

This was our first visit to Appletorre and Torquay and we'd definitely stay again. We had a nice, high ceilinged room for two and it was plenty big enough, with big double bed, comfy chairs and all the facilities you need for self catering. There were loads of information leaflets in the foyer, including travel info. The flats were in an ideal location, close to bars and restaurants, only ten minutes walk down to beach and twenty minutes walk into the town centre. The owner was very friendly and very approachable and helpful.

The studio flat we stayed in was nice and big, with a tall ceiling giving the room a nice open feeling. The owner was very nice spending lots of time with us, explaining all the things in Torquay we should see, and also giving us local knowledge of the restaurants which made our stay wonderful. We stayed during a quite period and were given a choice of rooms all of which were very clean and tidy. At first glance the shower looked small but i'm 6'2" and had no problems showering and on reflection I much prefer the room being kept big at the cost of the shower size. Will definitely be staying there again.

Room Tip: If you smoke there are 3 or 4 ground floor flats some of which have there own front door making it e...
