“Definitely would stay again!”
Reviewed March 27, 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night at the end of February. Staff were very friendly and a homely B&B feel. Breakfast was good. It is quite a walk into the Torquay centre but the weather was fine to walk.
Overall very impressed and if returning to Torquay, we will stay there again.

My wife and I were passing through Torquay on our way to Cornwall and decided to stay here. Its a very warm welcoming place and your hosts are friendly and helpful. They made us feel right at home. The free wifi was a plus as was the off street parking. The rooms are of a very high standard and were very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Perhaps its a little far out from the main part of town but that aside we had a very nice stay.

We booked the Briarfields after reading the excellent reviews and we weren't disappointed. Have stayed in many B&B's over the years and can honestly say that this is the best so far (in this country). Everything has already been said by the other reviewers regarding the quality of the rooms and cleanliness. It is a good 20-25 minute brisk walk into the town centre, but to be honest we welcomed the exercise after the breakfasts! We would definitely recommend
to any anyone who appreciates high standards-thanks Trish & Pete!

This definetely the best establishment we have had the pleasure to stay in, it was reopened in August 2010 after extensive refurbishment, and boy that was some upgrade, no expense has been spared and the quality of the whole property is excellent.
The bedrooms are very comfortable, with Memory foam beds, Flat Screen TV,s with inbuilt DVD player, fridge & hospitality tray, the rooms are valeted daily and kept very smart. The little extras like a couple of bottles of water in the fridge, and a bowl of chocs on the dressing table really make your visit feel special, there is also a large bowl of boiled sweets on the side in reception for you to help yourselves.

The breakfast room is very smart and fragrant, from all the fresh flowers, and the actual breakfast choice is 1st class, cereals, fresh fruit salads and strawberries, yoghurts & juices, then there is the Full English or any combination of cooked items from the menu that you may desire.

Now we come to the hosts, Trish & Pete, a really lovely couple whom we felt we had not just met, but had known for years. They make you feel very welcome and honestly cannot do enough for you, your every wish is thier command. As soon as we arrived we were offered a complimentary pot of tea, we promptly accepted and were very grateful after our .journey.

If this was a full blown hotel it would certainly be in the 5 star rating, and Trish & Pete have no doubt got there fingers on the pulse of customer satisfaction.

We will no doubt be visiting Briarfields again.

I stayed over for a business meeting on my own and was welcomed by pete, who promptly offered me a pot of tea and although I declined it was a really nice gesture after a long car journey. The B&B itself is very impressive and modern and my room was fantastic, just how I like it. Breakfast the next morning was excellent as well to set you up for the day. I found the whole experience from booking to leaving very easy and would definately stay there again if I was in the area. It also wasn't far from the sea front so a 10 min walk and you're there. Would definately recommend staying here if you're not sure where to stay so book up now!

We stayed here back in August, having booked last minute, and it was absolutely lovely. The owners are great, very helpful and friendly and they cook a good breakfast too! The room was clean and comfortable, and there was obvious care taking with the surroundings.

I was very impressed and would recommend it to anyone going to Torquay.
