This hotel has a good location about 200 yards from the seafront and good access to restaurants and shops. We are a couple in our early thirties and we paid only 58 pounds for a night which we thought was pretty okay for the summer high season.
The hotel is very old fashioned with flock wallpaper and very old fashioned fixtures and fittings. To give you an idea of the type of place, there is a stair lift to get down to the dining hall!. The room was reminiscent of staying at grannies house in the late seventies and the bed was utterly awful with bed springs poking up into my back all night.- had a pretty awful sleep. There is no lift to the upper floors either so dont bring heavy suitcases like we did! The bar area has a nice conservatory but was not open at 915pm when we wanted it! In my opinion this is a nice hotel that would suit people in their 60's or above - but if your a younger person you might want to try something else in the area - maybe the premier lodge next door. Hope you like my review - btw bring your own coffee as theirs wasnt very nice at all! - The hotel obviously does well catering for the older generation but not for us again.
