Kingston House is absolutely superb. Jill and Warren are the perfect hosts!! When we arrived we were welcomed warmly and were offered tea and coffee in the Lounge. Incidentally, make sure you try the Lemon Drizzle cake. The best I have ever had and unbelievable with a dollop of Clotted Cream.
The room is perfect. Though small it was arranged superbly and the attention to detail was fantastic. The Twinings tea box was superb. I wish I had stayed for a fortnight, then I would have been able to try every tea they had.
We were recommended a restaurant to eat in and a table was duly booked for us by Jill. Unbeknownst to us she mentioned to them that we were on our honeymoon and we were presented with a plate of petits fours and chocolate lettering on it saying "Congratulations". It was little things like this that warrants Jill and Warren having 5 Star status and a 5 Star trip advisor review.
Thankyou Jill and Warren for making this a memorable night. We will certainly be returning in the spring.

We rang up Kingston House to inform them that we will be arriving at a certain time and Jill, the owner answered the phone promptly. We arrived and were met by her husband, Warren who informed us that due to other guests leaving their cars, some spaces could be utilised properly so he will re-arranged the cars when we depart for dinner that evening. Great assistance with our suitcases.

The lounge had a cosy feel and the fresh flowers gave an added ambience. There were armchairs, seater sofas and newspapers on coffee tables for guests to read. We were given refreshments of home made cakes with clotted cream and coffee. We met another couple who arrived just before us.

We chose the super king-size room with the super king-size bed for our two night’s stay. The shower room and toilet had no windows but it was meticulously clean. Our bedroom faced the main road. Apart from an ambulance, there wasn’t any noisy traffic. Besides, we had the air-conditioned unit which blinded any noise outside.

The super bed was very comfortable with very light duvet. The pastel eiderdown co-ordinated with the other beddings. Only things that are missing from this lovely guesthouse are a bathrobe, a pair of slippers and a nice bath. Nonetheless, the shower room was good enough for us.

There was fresh skimmed milk left for our coffee in our room: it was perfect and lovely handmade chocolate. Nice touch.

Breakfast starts from 0815 to 0845 hours. Orange juice was the only available fruit juice and no other. The fresh fruit, granola and yoghurt was my favourite. It was created with imagination. Light, fresh, and not creamy.

The second evening, my husband was not feeling well and so had to abandon dinner that was booked in advance. Warren was very accommodating and looked after us when we had to go out in the middle of the night to get a bite back to eat. Thank you for allowing us to bring back a takeaway. Jill, thank you for the postcard. My German friend received it.

We have rested and recovered after our hard time walking and climbing in Whitsand Bay. Thank you, Jill and Warren.

We arrived late in Torquay, without booking a room, Jill and Warren went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Every detail in refurbishing the rooms has been thought of with some special touches including air conditioning and heated bathroom floor. Breakfast was excellently thought of and prepared with specials on top of their usual menu. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

Why is this languishing at number ten on the list of hotels in Torquay!!! I nearly missed out on this place because I was only looking at top listed hotels, thank god they were fully booked and one owner recommended this place.
I had the most wonderful stay and I travel all over the UK and the World. This B&B was fantastic, lovely room really nicely furnished. The owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Offered me tea and home made cake when I arrived.
And she was such a fund of information. Gave me good tips about where to go, where to eat and even offered to give me a lift to a fish and chip shop if I wanted. The breakfast was just fantastic, there is a menu but also specials like eggs benedict etc. I had a yoghurt fruit sundae and it was lovely, everything about this place was. I only stayed one night but would really love to stay for longer. Could not have found a better place to stay.

We spent one night at Kingston House. Jill and Warren are wonderful guests. After our arrival we were given tea, coffee and a piece of home-made cake. It was delicious!! Then Warren asked us what were our plans for the night. As we wanted to have our dinner at Gemelli's in Torquay, he was pleased to book a table for us. Jill told us that it was a good choice and that they have the best tiramisu in the city. It's really true!!! The bedroom is so cosy and clean. You have tea, coffee, fresh milk in the frigde and even great chocolates!! We have spent a very good night. Breakfast is home-made and of very good quality. The ham was the best I have ever tried! Thank you very much for this nice stay.

Room Tip: Avenue road is a bit noisy, if you can, ask for room N°5. It's off the street and probably more...
