We ordered the taster menu, quite expensive at £25/head but excellent quality and very good and friendly service. The restaurant is very comfortable and decorated to a very high standard.

Outstanding food, great service. Japanese may be a bit of a mystery but the food here is just so good. We've been here a couple of times. It's got to be one of the best places to eat in Plymouth.

Not as good as the Goto restaurant over in Southside St, we nonetheless like Yukisan a lot. At weekends there is a good crowd and a lot going on. You can sit near the street or in the bigger room at the back near the kitchen or if you are built to cross or bend your lower limbs you can sit on mats by very low tables upstairs. There is a good menu. The food is well cooked and presented. We have found it occasionally a bit pricey but by looking at the regular lunch deals and some of the offers in the evening it is routinely possible to get very good food without breaking the bank. We have often had a lot of fun here. Recommended.

Eat with three others recently. Went on Saturday evening. The place had lots of space so no need to wait.
Two of us had the taster menu and the others a la carte. The taster was ok at £25 a head. The a la carte selections did not excite the other diners. Dessert was green tea ice cream - definitely an acquired taste.
The waiting staff twice go our order wrong. Firstly by misunderstanding our starter requests, then by completely forgetting one of them mains that never arrived. This could have been avoided by simply reading back the order at the time it was taken.
Well over £100 for four people two of who did not drink and only three mains in a provincial town. Not value for money. You may decide otherwise

A bit quiet apart from us but a very good value and presented Japanese meal. Can't remember the name but I particularly liked the pile of shredded beef with some lovely sauces. Not I think quite as top notch as Goto but a bit cheaper and still for me ranks as excellent. One of my colleagues told me he went back the following Friday and it was very busy with a lot of good times. He had some multi-course tasting menu and enjoyed every part of it. This place is worth a try.
