We stayed at 'Driftwood' for just 4 nights and so wish we could have stayed the whole week.
As with previous reviews a 5 star rating is given as the standard of accommodation and attention to detail plus the location and truly spectacular unrivalled sea views provide all anyone could wish for in a 'get-away from it all' break. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather for swimming and cliff walking and just enjoying the superb views from the chalet's front terrace. However even off season or with not such good weather I am sure a week spent here would be just as relaxing and unforgettable
For anyone looking for a quiet retreat this is the place. No need to even use the car.
We will definitely want to return and for a full week next time

We spent a fantastic week here in August. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by our hosts and made to feel very much at home. The accommodation is just as described and you really need to visit to fully appreciate the views from the front patio or large sea-facing window. The finishes and facilities are among the best I've seen. The small rear terrace is perfect for coffee on a sunny morning too, with its array of plants and shrubs.
There is a lovely cafe about 30 seconds walk away, which serves great coffee and meals, with friendly staff too. The SW Coast Path is literall just in front of the property for those who wish to explore the coaost further.
If you are looking for a quiet relaxing break, this is ideal. We can't wait to return!

I am very reluctant to recommend this wonderful place as it would mean I would have difficulty booking it again! However this wonderful retreat does truly deserve more than 5 stars,it provides a much needed antidote to the real world; beautiful views, comfort and the sound of the sea - what more could anyone want. A fantastic place to stay especially if you are walking the south west coast path and the owners are extremely helpful.

The text in the announcement is fully reliable. Luxury, cosy, not too big but also not too small, kitchen good , as well of the toilet-area, bedroom and livingroom. The big window give you a Rembrandt-alike view on the ocean with an ever changing painting. Door open and you hear the roars and waves of the water. Visit Dartmoor, the Jurassic Coach, Cornwall, or take a swim on the beaches, walk along the coastpath, read a good book on the decking with a nice glass of wine. The contactstop with the owner by mail and personally are adequit and friendly.

We booked to stay at driftwood last minute and were not disappointed. The location is great with stunning sea views. The is beach only minutes walk away and overall the bay very quite. There are quite a few steps up to the chalet and down to the beach so may not suit everyone.
The chalet itself has been renovated to a high standard with good attention to detail. Even having to dry up seems less of a chore with a sea view! Overall it is ideal for two for a weeks relaxing stay.
Would recommend also Cafe Bovisand just along from Driftwood for pasties, cakes and evening meals for stays during August.
Would highly recommend a stay here!

Great location with sea just a 2 minute walk with the beach accessed via steps down a fairly steep cliff. When we were there the sea was calm and well suited for swimming if you like chilly English waters (like me). There is also a further beach accessed by a gradual slope which is easier than the steps.
Views from the living room and sofa were superb and you get a good flavour of this from the website. It was also great to have the convenience of parking just down the steps from the chalet.
Bedroom is small but comfortable. There's no bath but the shower is suitably powerful. The kitchen is well kitted out and there's an excellent retro fridge freezer and range cooker.
I'd definitely stay again, and hopefully have the great weather we were blessed with this time.
