In line with a lot of similar reviews on this hotel i have to agree its a well located hotel that is now looking very worn around the edges!
It wasn't a particularly cheap rate i paid for 1 night over a weekend but the hotel is well placed for the Theatre Royal and the shops.
The overall feel of the hotel is that it is crying out for a revamp/bit of TLC. The hallways and reception are looking desperately tired and unfortunately so are the staff.
What was a real let down was the organisation of breakfast - in that there wasn't any. Constantly running out of food, no one picking up used plates, no one directing the activities etc etc
I will definitely try somewhere else next time.

No wifi in the bedrooms, a nightmare when travelling with only a tablet. Can't do any work unless you go to the bar, but this is not always convenient.
Car parking is not attached to the hotel but it is underneath it, so dead easy for drivers.
Plenty of restaurants around - we went to an Indian restaurant at the back of the hotel which was lovely.
Good central hotel but a bit on the basic side.

Just stayed one night but all is well here. Clean and tidy hotel with good sized rooms and excellent facilities for a short time away from home. Great location as very close to the city centre, only five minutes walk. Bar and food fine and reasonably priced. Only thing that lets it down is the lack of its own car park.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are better as ones at the front overlook the busy main road.

The rooms and main public areas looked shabby and worn. Everything needs a fresh look. The rooms were of a good size but if you look closely could have done with a deep clean. The beds were comfortable. It was a good price though and the location was great, very close to the main shopping centre and only a short walk to attractions such as The Hoe and Barbican.

I tried to turn off the air conditioning and despite asking reception twice to do it, it remained on all night and was a bit on the chilly side.

Rooms were very clean and perfect for a great night sleep. Everything that you need is available. We rang down for an iron and one was brought to us in seconds. Great location in town centre. Only problem we had was that we were encouraged to get parking through hotel as "it would save us £4" compared to the £10 in car park itself. But the next day we wanted to go shopping and found out that although we saved money we couldnt park for as long as we would have been able to if we had bought directly through carpark. When we complained to the hotel the receptionist denied telling us the previous night. Other than that our stay was great

Great location for Plymouth University- the Jury's brand is OK value for money a bit 1990's bright, curtains, carpets etc... Big room and great premium bed. Worth. Booking a premium room, which includes broadband, ironing board, paper, water and biscuits.

The bar and restaurant have no atmosphere and it all feels a bit soulless in the common areas.

Dos the job but no connection.

Stayed here again whilst visting daughter at uni. Unlike last time we did not have the fantastic view of the barbican and harbour - just the car park - even though a request had been put in on booking. However, the room was warm and comfortable. Bathroom did have some stray hairs left - not ours. But by the second day all was cleaned properly. Will stay here again when visiting daughter but probably only for a maxmimum of 2 nights. I need to have a better outlook if I stay longer.
