A big hotel like this one would expect free internet access but they charge you for 24 hours what it would cost me for entire month back home.

The hotel is convenient to the city centre, drinks over priced as well as food I have stayed in most chain hotels this is in the lower end dated rooms. The car parking is expensive if you can find somewhere. Not the best won't be staying here again.

Hi, We only live 70 odd miles away from Plymouth but its nice to stay somewhere in the middle of the city for a bit of shopping and good restaurants, We have stayed here 3 times now and always found it easy to check in, rooms clean and tidy, the bar downstairs is open late for a drink before bed.
The main shopping centre is just over the road and it has a large safe car park £12 for 24 hours. The Barbican is only 10 min walk away with great restaurants and bars to pick from.
All in all the Jurys inn is great value for money, help yourself buffet breakfast with quite a good choice. That said breakfast staff don't look very happy......but we did get a good morning and a smile from the young girl that was cleaning tables.
If your looking for a good value Hotel right in the middle of Plymouth you will not go wrong with this one.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Barbican

Good points of hotel was its location for restaurants which was only about 5 or 10 mins walk away. Clean.

Bad points were that the bar snacks were poor value and very disappointing as several people in our party agreed and service was also very slow. The rooms were generally clean but the pillow on my bed was smelly and we had to close window at night to block out noise from busy street. We were on short break but felt there was a lack of drawer space for clothes if staying any longer.

Breakfast food was very good but the system needs overhaul. If you wanted toast with breakfast it took so long your food was cold, then you had to queue sometimes for tea/coffee etc. I feel that staff could bring toast and tea to tables to save a lot of time getting up and down from table to get everything you want.

This hotel is conveniently located near the University and centre of town. The Barbican is a short walk away and the Hoe not much further than that. The staff were very friendly and helpful both in Reception and at the bar. We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on that. Unlike some guests who's reviews I've read, we never had a problem with the lift/room card operation.

We were on the "superior" package which may have been why the room was larger than I would have expected along with the bed, which was definitely a king if not a super king. Having said that, the website suggests all the rooms are "spacious". We also had a good view at the back looking over the buildings to Sutton Harbour and beyond. My only criticism would be that for the money, we didn't feel we were getting anything particularly "special" (I fear that the price was inflated somewhat due to the Americas Cup and (possibly) the start of the University term).

But to be fair, the hotel doesn't try to be anything it isn't (ie. a high standard of ordinary!)

Room Tip: ask for a view over Sutton Harbour and you might get a nice room at the back

I came here for a business conference and found the entire experience excellent. At check-in, the reception staff gave me directions for the location of my meeting and a free map so I could find my way around. The room had been immaculately cleaned and was very homely. Staff were friendly greeting you with a 'hello' and a smile as you went around the building and the buffet breakfast was fantastically prepared in a very pleasant restaurant. Even though the hotel was totally fully during my stay, it was superbly run. A truly excellent hotel experience.

On the website it does mention that it is a shared carpark, however it doesn't tell you that you have to pay £10 a day. After trying to speak to the manager about it a member of staff said he is always dealing with this same complaint. Considering its one of the biggest hotels in Plymouth you would have thought something could have been sorted out.
