I stayed over in December as I was performing in Plymouth. The pub itself is lovely and the beers even lovelier. Barry was a great host and I enjoyed a convivial afternoon.
My room was spotlessly clean and a world away from the off the shelf chain hotels I often find myself in.
Though not ensuite It was a pleasure going to sleep and waking up in such a delightful location. I don't have breakfast but Barry did offer to do me a packed brunch.
I can't wait to go back

Live locally so haven't stayed, but have frequently eaten and drunk in this highly thought of old village inn, now in a fashionable suburb close to the Plym estuary. For a decade or more known as an hospitable real ale pub with generous and tasty pub food, there seems to have been some slight faltering. The excellent range of tasty pies was stopped a while ago and recently there was an offer of two lunches for a fiver. But the beer remains good and its still an authentic hospitable pub. My average marks for the B&B are because the Tripadvisor software insists I complete all sections! I would score the pub element a three approaching a four.

Stayed here alone on business and paid £35 for a room with a double bed. The pub is tricky to reach involving driving in narrow alleys. It is in a little fishing villlage across the harbour from Plymouth itself, and retains an unspoilt village atmosphere, despite the Ministry of Defence being based nearby. There are two village car parks, and one is about 200m away (there is no street parking for non-residents). I found the car park was full and had to wait till 10pm for a space to come, as visitors to the pubs usually fill these up in the evenings. Barry was a friendly landlord. The room was very basic, but has a wall-mounted TV and a towel provided. Free wireless internet is offered. The shared bathroom is clean and functional. The shower is somewhat weak. Breakfast was toast, cereal and a full English, which was average.

Stayed at the Boringdon Arms for 2 nights while attending a wedding in the area. I have to say that Barry and Liz are two of the most hospitable, friendly and helpful proprietors I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. The accommodation is fairly basic but very clean, no en-suite but never found the sharing of toilets and showers to be a problem, lovely view over the water to Plymouth from our room. We had breakfast at the pub both mornings and dinner there the one night, all of which were tasty and excellent value. Would loved to have stayed longer and walked some of the SW Coastal path as the pub is right on it. Overall, a smashing little place with good value accommodation, but it’s the owners that make it special.

Great budget pub to stay at. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and very filling.

We didn't have an evening meal, but the menu looked really good and based on the breakfast it would have been excellent.

Accommodation is budget, but had a tv in the room. Bathroom was shared and appeared to be undergoing some renovation but was clean and tidy.

Pub owner/manager was very friendly and helpful.

Would definitely recommend to others and would stay there again.
