qAll 5 members of this family welcomed me &took care of me. I almost felt like a family member !! They all worked together with other staff members who were also kind & curtious. The home made food was lovely yum !! The menu was also a nice selection. My room met all my needs as well as FREE WiFi in my room. I felt very happy & will certainly rerurn soon as i am quite local xx

A traditional old pub with rooms, food including breakfast was excellent, good portions and freshly prepared,The hosts and all the staff were excellent and super friendly.Nice to have local entertainment on the saturday evening.although today you usually get en-suite facilities(the larger familly rooms do have en-suite)Our room didn,t but this did not distract from a very pleasant familly stay.A good selection of beers were on tap,but the wine by the bottle selection was very limited with no rose on offer!.A thoroughly enjoyable stay in the lovely village of Turnchapel it is excellent for a week-end getaway.

Room Tip: The rooms on the front of the buildind have great views over Plymouth sound.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this quaint little pub. The rooms were quite basic but very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the facilities were very good. The owners and their beautiful dog were extremely friendly, as were all the other staff and locals. Breakfast was extremely tasty and well cooked and although we didn't have an evening meal we could only imagine that was first class too. We will definitely return again soon. Also it's very conveniently placed for the Mount Batten ferry which takes you across to the Barbican so you save on fuel and parking. We hardly used our car all the time we were there.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the harbour are lovely

Alfred and his team did us proud at the end of the Fastnet Race 2013. Not only was it a very busy time for him, he went out of his was to accommodate 60 unruly, slightly tiddly;y and excited sailors from Sailing Logic. I think we managed to drink the pub dry of most of the ales and a good night was had by all. many thanks, we will be back in 2015!!

Thank goodness for GPS! The pub is tucked away down extremely narrow fishing-village lanes, but has a stunning view over Plymouth Sound. A warm welcome from the hosts and their lovely dog in this character-filled old pub.

Staff were all really friendly and obliging and breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

We were surprised to find there was no car parking near the pub, being directed instead to a public car park down the road, which was full, so we had to head up the road to another public car park. Getting to that car park took three attempts as the road was very narrow and I had to back up for other vehicles. If we had lots of luggage this would have been a real chore as it was also tricky dropping off my family outside the pub.

Next time, we shall come by train and take a taxi to the pub.

Room was spacious and quiet, we had the quadruple bed room, which was ensuite and adequate for our requirements - beds were comfy and we slept very well.

Lovely pub, free parking 20 metres from the pub.

We sat in the beer garden and had lunch and a pint. Food was fantastic...all home cooked.

The South African guy behind the bar was excellent, very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

We will definitely be back.
