This used to be a peaceful place that when away from the main path it was undisturbed and a haven for wildlife. Now the National Trust have put the bulldozers in and created a bike track. MADNESS! The mess made there is heart-breaking.

Walk up river from the bridge to see stunning scenery.
You will reach a viaduct. From the viaduct you can look down and see the ruins of old mining works together with the walls of
cottages once occupied by the workers. A lovely place.

fantastic place for a walk with the family along the old railway line and a place to get away from it for a few hours.

We last walked there in April when it was wet but still good. Since then there is the great addition of Cycle Hire (in B&Q carpark) - a brilliant idea. Also the steam train runs more often during the summer and is well worth a visit. We went this weekend.
