“Great experience”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Stayed for three nights before moving on into Cornwall. Noted previous reviews about rooms bring hot, but didn't find this a problem on this occasion. Curtains had been drawn to keep the sun out prior to arrival, plus two fans had been left on so to be fair it was moderately cool. It was also noticeable that there was a typed letter in the room apologising about the potential heat, offering further fans, jugs of iced water, provision of two sheets in case the duvets were too hot and a chilled water cooler in the lobby. Apart from fitting air con there is nothing much more they could do. The staff were very polite, especially a young guy who checked us in and happened to be on reception when we left. He was extremely courteous and an asset to the company. All the staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Clean room, good facilities and great location. The Premier Inn we stayed in when we got to Cornwall seemed a poor second best compared to Sutton Harbour. Will definately stay again.

Poor I'd you ask me! Don't stay here stay next door!

Temperature 29 in room when only 20 outside. Did not cool down at night. 2 fans in room but no air-con. Third fan offered when we complained to staff, not sure where it could have gone as two plugs already in use with other fans. Staff response to high room temperature was to admit that it was warm and they were breaking the law by opening fire escapes to try and cool the building down! To be fair staff service was extremely polite, just lack of air-con made room totally unbearable. I doubt very much if Premier Inn will keep its promise of a refund if a good night sleep has not been had!

A nice hotel, easy access to the Barbican but not a place to stay during hot weather. No air=con, only ineffective portable fans. A modern hotel with totally outdated room facilities. If you keep the window open, you are disturbed by outside noise. PLEASE PREMIER INN< SORT THIS OUT.

The service at this hotel was lovely, staff are friendly and willing to help with any queries, location is beautiful, short walk to main harbour and resturant. But we were let down by the rooms, they were lovely and clean but the heat was unbearable, we had 2 fans in the room on all night, a thin bed sheet which we didn't even use because it was too hot, my partner had to have a cold shower at 2am because he was too hot, we called downstairs but they said there was nothing they could do, after a sleepless night the temperature of the room was 31.5c and that was with both fans on and curtins closed, iv checked previous reviews and this is a re occuring issue but still nothing has been done why?

This is a really welcoming hotel, from the big smiles that great you on reception, to the spotless rooms.
It is also nice that the restaurant is within the building, so no track across the car park for dinner or breakfast. (the breakfast was excellent, by the way).

Room Tip: Try and get a harbour veiw

I have always rated the Premier Inn very highly on my travels, but this time I will only award it 1 star.

The rooms are unbearably hot, so hot that it is impossible to sleep. A fan is not acceptable in the 21st century, especially when a room is charged at £85 per night!

Premier Inn are usually a good budget hotel but recently their charges are higher than neighbouring hotels.

If you read through the reviews for the Sutton Harbour Premier Inn you will see numerous complaints about how hot the rooms are. Despite this no action has ever been taken to improve the situation.

The Management Team really now need to be listening to the numerous complaints of overly hot rooms!
