“Great Premier Inn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

Checked in for a Friday and Saturday night. There was a small queue to check-in at 3pm due to several of us all checking in at the earliest time.

Staff were friendly and the place spotlessly clean and tidy.

Likewise our room was spotless and overlooked the yacht harbour, and the double bed massive. Perhaps it was king size? It certainly felt and looked bigger that other PI beds I've slept in.

One thing that worried me were the two fans in the room. Does this mean it gets too hot when it's hot? It certainly wasn't an issue for our weekend which was mostly overcast, wet and windy.

The nearby Pub Thistle Tavern, which although it may have looked a little rough to those who prefer 4-star, was great having a good selection of Real Ales and had a live band playing.

I have just stayed 2 nights at this premier inn. It was chosen because of its close proximity to the site I was visiting which turned out to be massively to my advantage.

The place is clean , standard premier inn set up staffed by helpful friendly individuals.

As previously mentioned the view out over the water is excellent. Nice view on a morning.

Would recommend and use again

Well good staff. My room facing a road at the back of the hotel. But I could not cool the room down. The thermostat was showing 23c all the time I was there. There were 2 fans in my room and I could not get the temperature down. The windows open possible 15cm so no way will any air get in but you will not want it open because of the road noise. All the lights in this style of hotel give off heat. I will never stay here again

Booked for 1 night on route to Cornwall. Very easy to find and was pleasantly surprised at beautiful location right by The Barbican. The room was spotless and had amenities you would expect. The main bonus was the staff. They were all excellent from Reception to the Bar to the Restaurant, accommodating all our quirky needs! Well done to all of you for making our short visit so memorable.

Room Tip: Worth a phone call direct to hotel for any special requests

Me and my boyfriend arrived in Plymouth after a long and draining journey from manchester, looking forward to a nice relaxing night, ready for our early start the next day. First impressions weren't 'amazing' but we wasn't expecting a grand palace, we was only staying for 2 nights so literally just wanted somewhere decent and clean to sleep. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful as we checked in and shown the way to our room. The room, we didn't have complaints about, like I said we wasn't expecting something special. We ate downstairs in the hotels restaurant and we didn't have any complaints there either ... To begin with ... That night We was woken repeatedly by someone in the room above us doing laps around their room until the early hours and they started early aswel !! On our second night, after a long busy day, we just wanted and early night and a good sleep as we had a long journey home the next day, this was obviously disturbed by the idiots above us and the fact we was both fighting over the toilet to be sick !!!! The only thing we had ate the same was at the meal the previous night .. The burgers ! We spent the next 24 hours constantly throwing up which can only be put down to one thing !! We can both safely say that we won't be returning in a hurry !!

Stayed here for 10 days in August 2012 as part of a holiday travelling along the south coast and found it excellent and value for money too. We arrived slightly early and as our room was ready for us they let us check in early which was great after a long journey.
We had planned this trip for a while and we rang the hotel ahead of the arrival date and asked if we could have a Harbour facing view they did not disappoint we had a lovely view of the harbour and plymouth barbican. The room was excellent, clean and quiet. Great location for the city centre and excellent spot for a nightly walk around the harbour and up to plymouth hoe. There is a resturant attached to the hotel serving a good selection of dishes as well as a excellent breakfast for all appetites and if you just want to chill out in the room they offer a room service pizza delivery from their kitchens.
There was no issues with access as there are lifts to all floors which are keycard protected for security and peace of mind, plenty of free car parking was available with adequate disabled bays.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. we enjoyed our stay that much we have booked again for 2013.

Again great harbour location within a short walk of the shopping centre or the cinema leisure complex.
Great large clean rooms with lovely views.
Also a nice quiet building with a lift for any access issues.
Car parking available also.
Nice cooked to order breakfast.
Staff friendly and happy to share local knowledge.
