Lovely room which was immaculately clean and that was so nice! Would use Premier Inns again and have recommended Premier Inn to family and friends. The location was ideal and free parking is a bonus. No noise so nice and quiet.

For a Budget Hotel, Sutton Harbour is just right. Location, good efficient and friendly staff and value for money. Free car parking and easily accessible. And a guaranteed good nights sleep. What more do you need. Thank you.

The service, the room, the cleanliness, and the facilities were all decent and exactly the same as at any other Premier Inn. They are what you expect and the price would be good, were it not for the issue below.

When we checked in, we asked for a harbour view room, simply so we would have a nice view. Those rooms were full so, fair enough, we had a room at the other side. It was not a big deal until we went to bed.

See the accompanying photos. Our room was on the first floor, a mere 3 metres from the roadway. It's only one wide lane in each direction, but it must be a busy thoroughfare. It's kind of an industrial estate neighbourhood (on the road side of the hotel) and cars, trucks, and motorcycles went roaring by at high speed until at least 2:00 AM. It gets worse. It was a hot summer weekend and the hotel has no air-conditioning. You are forced to open the window or stifle, and let yet more noise in. It was a decision between a rock and a hard place whether or not to open the window, and we experimented both ways - both horrible.

They are obviously aware of the situation. In the room already were not one, but two portable fans. We had a horrible night's sleep. The only reason I have rated this hotel "poor" and not "terrible" was because of the staff. I spoke to reception in the morning to complain, and asked to whom do I write to make an official complaint and ask for my money back. Now apparently Premier Inn have a "good sleep guarantee", and the lady gave us a full refund right there and then. She was very understanding and knew of this issue.

Still, I would rather have had a good night's sleep and pay for it than have a bad one for free. We had had a long day before and a long drive ahead of us to Cornwall that day. This hotel should not be renting out rooms on the road-side of the building, full stop. Maybe if they installed air-conditioning and sound-proof windows, it would be fine. This, by the way, would applies to all rooms on the road side.

Room Tip: The rooms on the harbour side would be fine. you would still hear road noise through an open window...

Thank you for your review.

It really matters to us that our guests have a comfortable nights sleep, and we sincerely apologise that on this occasion we failed to provide this. We are well aware of the issue of high room temperatures, and are currently in the process of installing air conditioning into all of our hotel branches.

However, this will be a lengthy process, so in the meantime the management team at the hotel have done all they can to help reduce room temperatures. Please be assured your comments have been noted and will be fully investigated.

Once again thank you for your review, we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn in the future.

Very clean. Friendly and efficient staff. Great food (evening meal and breakfast on the meal deal) at excellent prices. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced. Nice view from our room. Room was a little warm, but fans were provided for use in the room if you wanted them. Huge bed, quiet durring the night. Recommend to EVERYONE.

£300 for a 3 night stay. Had to have two fans on constant the whole night as there was no air con and the room temperature was very high(aparently it's a problem in the whole building). Housekeeping were knocking on the door at 08:30 on Saturday mnorning and you have to pay for use of wifi....apart from that the reception and dining room staff were excellent. friendly and helpful at all times. Great location close to Barbican. I wont stay here again despite the lovely staff.

Just back from a 2 day stay in Plymouth, as always went to the Sutton Harbour PI, great views, fantastic staff, helpful and sincere, customer focused and genuine. Well done yet again for exceeding my high expectations.

Room Tip: Top floor harbour facing rooms are the best, warm in the summer but the view is great.

On returning from a trip to our cottage in France we decided to stay at this hotel. We arrived off the ferry late and tired. We were not expecting to be awoken at 04.45 by the night porter to be told that our car had been broken into in the car park. Our rear window was smashed and some items were stolen. It had been caught on CCTV but the images were blurred. We dealt with the police and had to drive home - 3 hours with no rear window.
