“Great place”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

We were only staying one night, for my Granddaughters Graduation...10 of us traveled down from Manchester. The rooms were very well kept..bright and airy..The guy on reception was very charming and helpful
We paid the £22 per person for 3 course evening meal and all you can eat breakfast and we weren't disappointing. The evening meal was very good and the service was excellent.breakfast was absolutely fantastic, the breakfast Manager took all our orders and everyone was spot on..He then brought full plates of bacon...sausages..hash browns..etc if anyone wanted extras. He was very good at his job and smiling all the time, nothing was to much trouble for him....The company..(Premier Inn) should be very proud of him.
So this place gets my vote...100% satisfaction.
Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: Only seen my own room,so can't comment..but if same as mine, all would be excellent.

We chose this for the location and price. To be honest, we were expecting it to be a bit below par. However, once we had found it (more on this later) we were pleasantly suprised. Big free car park, just get a ticket from reception to display. Nice welcome from reception. I asked for a quiet room and that is what we got. Our room was the furthest away from anywhere, right at the end of a long corridor, so we had nobody walking past.

The whole place looked brand new. I have no idea how long it has been here, or if it has recently had a total make over. Our room was bigger than expected and spotless. It had everything you needed and good sized mugs for tea and coffee too. Bathroom was fine and the shower was good with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels (new possibly).

We did not book breakfast, but for those who did, it is a stroll across the car park to the Lockyers Quay 'restaurant' and they had several deals on offer eg free breakfast for kids. I think this is shared by both the Premier Inns for their catering.

They offer a 'money back if you don't have a good night' deal. We had no need of this as we did have a good night. No noise to disturb us and a very comfortable bed and pillows of your choice.

The only downside, was trying to find it!! There are actually TWO Premier Inn's next to each other, and when you get to the first one, it only says 'Premier Inn' on the sign. It was not until we had parked, got our bags out of the car and into reception, that our error was pointed out to us. We had to get back in the car and drive round a corner and we still couldn't see a sign. We ended up by the Aquarium (a dead end) and it was on our return up the road that we saw it!
You can walk across the bridge by the Aquarium to get to the harbour, but it does close in the evening and it is a longer walk back round again!

It is not luxury, but value for money it is great. There is no lift, so if you have heavy bags, opt for a ground floor room.

The first night of our stay was awful. You could hear everything going on outside (clubbers going home, drunk and noisy. Cars, taxis, buses going past) and to top it all off the extractor fan in the bathroom wouldn't turn off so it made a high pitch humming noise ALL NIGHT.

I mentioned this to the male receptionist and he was AMAZING! He move us to another room and, without much prompting, refunded us for the bad nights stay (£80!) - what more can you ask.

The second night was brilliant. The receptionist booked a taxi for us to get to te wedding party we were going to and, in the evening, I slept like a log! Was bliss!

Why anyone goes for other hotels, I don't know, but what I do know is you should all book premier inns from now on.

Amazing!

The hotel is near the quay, about 2mins walk into the city centre and loads of restaurants to choose from.

we liked the 'welcome' email the day before our trip. We stay in Premier Inns because we know exactly what the Inn will be like and, above all, that the room will be impeccably clean. Apparently I haven't written enough' hope this is now long enough.

Premier Inn internet booking process is very efficient with text messages and sat nav directions - may seem simple but following a visit to travelodge have learnt to appreciate these things. Hotel is very well located, rooms clean & modern, good breakfast. Was quite warm but unlike travelodge a free standing fan was provided in the room. Plenty of parking available.

I had an offer from table table who own this chain of eating establishments so i decided to use whilst taking a short vreak in Plymouth. The place was busy but a table was found quickly and i was introduced to our waitress for the night. I produced the voucher i had and was told that was no problem and immediately informed of my options. The service was quick and efficient although the food was more pub like than the restaraunt atmosphere portrayed. Although busy the staff worked well to ensure waits were kept to a minimum. At final bill request there was no problem and the voucher i had was taken into account without quibble. The overall impression was the food was pub like but the service was good and the drinks reasonable. Definitely worth another visit.

Room Tip: Did not stay at the hotel so can offer no comment.

Great stop over for the ferry, no complaints. Very good staff and clean. Even at a very early hour of the morning we were greated at reception with some good advice on how best to reach the ferry port. Shame we missed breakfast.
