I've stayed here three times and its always a good trip.
Rooms are nice and clean and fresh and nice and quiet.
Only one niggle, the bed was not as comfortable as the one the previous night I stayed in at Poole. But no big problem at all, I would happily stay there again.
The attached pub is also good, beer and food is excellent. Plenty of parking with free parking vouchers issued by the hotel.

I've just spent a week in Plymouth for work and used the Lockyers Quay restaurant as it was linked in with the Premier Inn I was staying at.

Location: excellent, nice views over the harbour with outside seating when a touch warmer

I'd like to split the restaurant into 2 sections.
(1) breakfast which was excellent, nice cuts of bacon, sausages were nice and the fried eggs were perfect. The staff were a credit and very friendly, but with the knowledge of knowing when someone in the morning just needed food and a to be left alone to wake up. There was always a cheerful smile and quick breakfasts were served. The croisants were fresh and the brown bread nutty and tasty. Walid the breakfast manager was a true credit to the company, friendly informative, and always willing to help. The staff asked each day as to if I wanted any further items from the cooked breakfast bar.

(2) evening meals, good food and with normally quick service even when busy. Staff, in particular Nikki were again a credit to the company and the flexibility with the menus was really appreciated. I stay in Premier Inns between 3 and 6 nights a week and the menu meal deals can get rather boring when you get them week after week. Thanks Nikki.

On the menu side, on one of the evenings, they were trying out the new menus, due to kick off about the 19th April and all teh staff were very positive about the new menus, the chef was also available and discussed as to the new items. Now it's a case of when do I try the Table Table group next.

I was working in the centre of Plymouth and found there was a short cut across the harbour bridge to get to the centre in about 10 mins, as car parking is a bit of a challenge in Plymouth, this really helped and it was a pleasant walk in anyway. But the bridge closes at 21:30, so don't be late back unless you want a longer walk around the harbour.

The restaurant is currently in the process of having a lick of paint and renovation, but this never seemed to affect the the ability to serve to the clients and there was always areas to sit. Only on the first evening there was a slight smell of paint, otherwise no problems.

On the last day of our stay, my wife discovered that she had left her handbag in the restaurant from the previous night. Needless to say this caused some concern, but Walid was like a duck to water and insisted that he would check around while my wife has a drink and some breakfast to help calm down. He then proceeded to contact the managers from the night shift (sorry for the disturbance) and found out that a member of staff had located it and as I was recognised as being a regular, they had taken the handbag to the hotel reception. I popped over and it was duly handed over to me. And breathe, what a big sigh of relief that was.

In some places I've stayed in, when something like this was to happen, you just get a feeling that the reply would be "no sorry I haven't seen the bag... next customer please", but not so here, they cared and what a difference that makes.

I love how at the end of the stay, Walid did a little doggy bag for my wife (I was told it wasn't for me!!) and wished us all the very best. A real above and beyond the call of duty.

Finally, I would like to thank Walid and Nikki for there help during our stay, and I look forward to next visiting Plymouth as I would definately be going back to this location.

Thanks guys and Table Table, please use Walid and Nikki as samples of who your staff should asphere to.

Stayed at this hotel two nights, one of which cost only £29!! Excellent location, clean and comfortable accommodation, free parking and very helpful happy staff.
Ate at the co-located pub on both days, again excellent service. Would recommend this hotel to all who are looking for basic comfortable accommodation in an ideal location.

We have stayed at this hotel several times, and the one next door to it (sutton harbour). Both are always spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We got this room for £29 having booked well advance, which is worth doing. Whilst Premier Inn is a little more expensive than Travelodge (at full price), you get far more space, a few more facilities, the breakfast is superb (all you can eat - so make sure you're hungry!) and the beds are always HUGE! Would recommend this hotel. Staff have always been lovely.

We as a Family meet up every year on Christmas Eve. We have a meal and exchange Christmas presents with those we will not be seeing Christmas Day. Most years we are bitterly dissapointed with the Venue booked. Not this year! Seventeen of us plus two Teenagers and two Children enjoyed a lovely meal (3 Courses for £15) at the Lockyers Quay and there were no Complaints. Everything was Lovley! We were made to feel Welcome from the date we booked and nothing was too much trouble. The Manager welcomed us and we had superb sevice from our Waitress. A Lovely time was had by all and hopefully we will be returned Christmas 2011. Thanks

We booked on a room only basis. The room was spotlessly clean and we had the best night's sleep.
The hotel itself is located in commercial area, which was a bit run down. However, it's only a short walk to the center of town and the Barbican. There was lots of room in the car park which was included in our stay.
Breakfast is extra, and quite expensive even though it is an all you can eat. There is a snack bar oposite the hotel which is ok, but basic.

We were supposed to stay at the Premier Inn-Sutton Harbour location next door, but discovered upon arrival that we had been moved to Lockyers Quay became of damages sustained to some of the rooms. Wished that the hotel had made some effort to contact us prior to arrival so that we did not manuever into the tight parking lot and unload our car only to have to repack it and move to another parking lot.

The hotel is located just behind the National Marine Aquarium and across the pedestrian bridge over the lock from the Mayflower Steps and Barbican - a three to five minute walk away - very convenient. Our room was very warm, and the window faced a noisy street, so we were forced to close it. The fan provided was must appreciated, but not enough to cool the room. Otherwise, the room was clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Free parking in Plymouth was a plus.
