Just found the correct place to put a review of this bar with the help of another reviewer. Visited this Wine Lounge/Merchant last week and had a great time, it has a modern wine machine that lets you have a small amount before spending out on a large glass or bottle.
We had some Tapas some of which was sliced from a whole leg of cured meat not just out of a packet, Yum Yum.

Good place to go before visiting one of the restaurants and perhaps have a tapas as a starter before moving on for the main meal.

Agree with the earlier review. This place is new. Although it is an independent it follows a formula we have encountered in France. The wine selection is very good, the retail prices slightly higher than we would normally think of paying but the choices and the option to taste before drinking in or taking home removes the risk and uncertainty. We had a bit of fun and will be back. Perhaps the tapas, which were good, could have been more varied, maybe a cheese platter? It also seemed slightly perverse in a place sold on tasting and enjoying fine wines, that they allow smoking in the outside seating area.

On the side of the Green near the life-sized white toy cows this new business is a flash wine shop providing 'pay to taste' facilities with a vast range of top end bottles to buy, or for another £6 or £7 corkage, the opportunity to drink inside the minimalist 'lounge' or outside on the garden furniture. To keep you going or slow down the effects of the alcohol there is a simple reasonably priced small range of 'low key tapas' comprising thinly sliced continental sausage, smoked ham, olives, sun dried tomatoes and artichokes. The formula isn't bad. Perhaps a bit flash and snooty for the likes of we humble Plymothians but obviously geared to a moneyed or slightly pretentious crowd. To be fair we had a relaxed enjoyable time largely because only a few other people came by and the staff were obviously still snagging and finalising what may have been a very recent opening. I think the success, accessibility and ambience will depend very much on the behaviour of the people it attracts. It opens from mid morning till about 9pm so you could build unbridled and slightly expensive lubrication into a day with a full meal somewhere else afterwards. We shall be going back again soon.
