“Excellent place to walk picnic or just haze.”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

I agree with all that has been said below but would add a slight warning. There is a good sized free car park where if you chose you can even sit in your car and look out at the fantastic view but u fortunately over at least recent months it has been substantially taken over by commuters' cars which can often occupy three quarters of the spaces with vehicles left unattended from before nine to well after five.

Hope someone soon adds some pictures of the park and views. Maybe some naval movements too.

“Home sweet home”
Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

A lovely area with nice friendly people, lots of history all around a great kiosk which serves the best bacon baps and the staff are very nice too!! It's great for dog walking, although there could be some tennis courts put in the old reseviour for the local kids..

“Splashing around in the rock pools...”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

This was a favourite childhood destination. Living as I was in St Budeaux, I walked here with my younger brother over sixty years ago to enjoy the salt water bathing, the crawly critters in the rock pools, and on a recent return mavelled at the wonderful views of Drake's Island. Mount Edgecumbe and Plymouth Sound.

A great place for a flat walk with surrounding views of plymouth sound! the youngsters hang around in the car park in the evening though so not recommended at these times.

“Eastern King, Western King, Firestone Bay and Devil's Point.”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Almost a kilometre of important defensive history from the west side of Mill Bay to the south western corner of the Royal William Yard. As with so much of Plymouth's history, little is known by the public or cared about by the planners or developers but this stretch at least remains as a very pleasant often breezy open walk with a deal of grass and access to the waterside and spectacular largely unspoilt views of the Sound, Drake's Island and Mount Edgecombe. Recommended.
