A good value for money guest house. Excellent location as very near to the Hoe and easy walking to the Barbican and City Centre.

Would have preferred some choice of breakfast but perfectly well cooked.
Somewhere to stay for a short time, probably not for more than two nights.

Room Tip: A long way to walk if you have the rooms at the top as no lift

Nice little B&B. Warm welcome from lady (not the owner) whom was happy to help with any information. Stayed in family room that had a double and one single bed. All linen fresh and clean. Electric shower en-suite compact but functional. Small breakfast room that could mean waiting if you require a table for your own use. Nice cooked breakfast with extra tea & toast if required. Fairly easy to park outside or close to the guest house. Owners will sell full day parking tickets if required at a heavily discounted price compared to the on street parking meter. Very close to the Hoe and reasonable walking distance to the Barbican, etc.
We would use again if staying for just one or two nights, but as no guest lounge or bar, would prefer something larger for a weeks stay.

much better than a hotel ,very large bedroom The second floor room retained many original period features and bathroom and very clean , close to the sea front ,very good choice for breakfast ,the landlord very accommodating and very welcoming. Not overly intrusive but an attentive host none-the-less. I shall return soon and would highly recommend this B&B for any travelers (business or pleasure) who are looking for superior, central accommodation

Having stayed at Jewells on several occasions now, I felt it time to write a review to share our fantastic experiences. We have been fortunate enough to stay in two different rooms; one ground floor level and one lower level.
The ground floor room retained many original period features, was a larger than average room with everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. The lower level room was slightly smaller in size but had an amazing large power shower in the en suite.
Due to business commitments we didn't have chance to sample the breakfast so unable to comment on this however the look of the breakfast room was well presented and very clean in appearance.
Last but not least Keith has always been very welcoming. Not overly intrusive but an attentive host none-the-less.
I hope to return soon and would highly recommend this B&B for any travellers (business or pleasure) who are looking for superior, central accommodation.

I chose Jewells Guest House because of tripadvisor reviews and was a bit disappointed with my choice. It is a guest house so don't expect a small lobby or meeting area. You walk directly in and up the stairs to the guest rooms. The room and bath were clean but very basic, not a place to relax and enjoy spending time in bed. The smells of fried bacon wafted into our room each morning encouraging us to get up. Breakfast is cooked to order and filling. Jewells is located within easy walking distant to the Hoe and other sites. Guesthouses are plentiful in the area and although Jewells is not a bad choice, I will look into other locations for our next visit.

this b and b is nicely situated near the Barbican and the Citadel. Rooms very good and modern, breakfast ok, bathroom very good with the exception of the shower which was a poor flow.

Lovely guest house, friendly owners, super clean rooms and wonderful breakfast. Couldn't fault any of that but ... having specifically asked for ground or 1st floor room because of mobility problems the owners gave them to other guests who arrived the day before and made a lot of noise about being upstairs!

My friend and I, both with mobility problems, had to tackle 44 stairs four times a day.

Room Tip: Make your needs known - very postively!
