called in for breakfast and was somewhat surprised having read such glowing reviews. It was busy, so was uncomfortably crammed, tables covered in plastic cloths, very 70s.boxes of potatoes and crisps piled high - blocking access to the drinks fridge, sandwiches served with Happy Shopper bread on tea plates too small to eat from and lack of cutlery. this was provided when requested but should not have been necessary to ask.
the produce was not great quality, just a basic cafe.

I have visited the cafe on quite a few occasions. I am always greated by friendly staff and the food is freshly prepared in front of you. Whether you just want a toastie or a delicious full meal, the standard is always excellent. The cafe is also set in a beautiful location. When the weather is good it is lovely to sit outside and admire the views. I would definitely recommend this cafe and also suggest trying the home-made cakes. They are delicious.

I have been eating here for quite a few years now and can say without hesitation that it is by far the most reliable cafe in town. Most places have good and bad days.
Sound Bites is consistently excellent.
The quality of food is outstanding, they evidently source first class produce and prepare it to a very high standard. Varying the menu with frequent exciting 'specials' and homemade cakes means I can eat something different or familiar as the mood takes me.
The owner is evidently a well traveled food fan who loves what he does and his staff are genuinely happy, both food and service have heart.
Excellent views and easy parking make it an ideal location for outdoor lunch or a convenient takeaway sandwich. Take your friends and enjoy the atmosphere, they will certainly be impressed.
I cannot praise it highly enough!

We choose this cafe based on the reviews here, they were spot on. You need to go through the QAB security barriers; parking is free for 2 hours. This is a small cafe run by staff who seem to care about what they do. We arrived on a warm lunchtime and sat outside and in a naughty but nice spirit ordered the full English breakfast, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Sat overlooking the moored yachts on the river and a headland. I can imagine it getting busy with boat people. It is a short walk from the Aquarium, which is also worth a visit.
