Description: Every English town or city has its favourite chip shop, especially when you can also sit in and where the shop is a local hub or draws customers from miles around. Francine's is one of those. On the fringe of a very poor area, but award winning constantly busy and renown. Not fine dining but a good option for locals and visitors.fresh fish from the local quay. Well worth a Tripadvisor listing.

Needed a quick bite to eat and popped into Francines last Thursday evening (8th Nov 2012). The plaice was empty (pun intended!!) at around 8pm so I thought "Has it lost it's customers for some reason?" Needn't have worried though, Had fish and asked for a smaller portion of chips than the normal regular sized portion - No problem came the response it's a pound for the smaller portion making it £4.90 in total. Went home and scoffed every bit, lovely, large piece of white, excellently cooked cod in batter and the chips were great! Best F&C I've had in ages.

Great place for chips in Plymouth. The other range of things they have on offer are also good. Great parking in the Tesco shop next door too!

Good quality food at a fair price. Good size portions too. It Can get very busy and you may need to wait for your order. As said, staff are very efficient.

Fish was rather bland, as were the chips. Portion was enough to feed two hungry people, but quantity seems to take precedence over quality.

Its a popular fish and chip shop on north prospect road. I live near by and even on a Saturday when it is at its busiest you still do not have to wait too long for your food, the staff are very efficient and friendly too :) very good value for money and as people have already said, VERYgood portions. We never learn, always over order ha ha. Always served piping hot, so if you go by car, should still be warm when you get home.
