Description: Very traditional village pub on the northern edge of the city of Plymouth convenient to a large local community but much used by travellers on their way back from the rural hinterland and especially Dartmoor. Fair good value selection of mid to low priced traditional pub food in a classic setting. Well worth a Tripadvisor entry.

“Worth it for the food”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

Thoroughly enjoy the Lopes Arms. Went there today and found the staff attentive and friendly. The place is clean and tidy with the toilets being spotless.

The menu is lovely although there is no 'health' option which is a shame. Had chicken risotto with side salad which was beautiful. As everything is cooked fresh I would recommend pre ordering as it can take a little while.

My only complaint was the Take That greatest hits playing, we're not all fans!

“Old pub being updated but retaining some older features.”
Reviewed October 10, 2011

In the single street of Roborough, the northern outer suburb on the old road to and from Tavistock and Dartmoor. You now need to take a loop to get in off the dualled by-pass. But it's an old pub in an old street with a basic but bright public bar and a separate restaurant. Serving a modest but predictable and well cooked range of pubby food. Reasonable beers, not a bad place for lunch or an evening if someone else is driving.
