Description: There are a few fast food eat in and out food places in Plymouth some of which have a modest cult status in the city either because of their prominent and convenient position or because of a consistent reputation. West Hoe Fryers has such a reputation for being close to the Hoe foreshore and parkland and foe taking care to maintain traditional standards. There is a steady faytime trade and often a queue for the cafe eating area. Worth a Tripadvisor listing.

Was recommended to try this chippy by a friend who swears by it. It was a long way from Plympton where I live, but it was well worth the trip! Everything was cooked to order in crispy batter, and the chips were a true golden colour. The staff were polite, well dressed in clean uniforms and very cheerful. I highly recommend it to anyone, well worth the effort. I can see myself having lots of fish suppers on the Hoe from now on.

This is a lovely little cafe with very friendly staff and great service. The cod and chips are always freshly cooked and delicious, I usually order a 'child portion' to take out at lunchtime as that is quite adequate as a lunch for me. Would highly recommend!

Three of us went for the sit-down meal early evening and we were not disapponinted.Nothing fancy or flashy just the best chippie in town.Tasty, hot and ample portions with friendly and helpful staff. All seating taken with non stop takeaway customers. Cost £20 including cups of tea.If theirs a better chippie in town then it must be stupendous. Will be returning in the near future.
