Quite a mix of styles. Not sure I understand very much of it but a nice punchy mix of colours. The figurative stuff is quite scarey. But the painter is easy going, has travelled a lot and got ideas from all over the place. I think he takes commissions and will paint pretty well anything you like from shop and business signage through to varying blocks of colour that you could match with furnishings. But most of it is arty and very different from anything I'd seen before. Although I think he has some kind of art degree I don't think he went to one of the main art schools. His style is good, probably because he may be largely self taught. I'd like to own one of his pieces.

Went to look because of new listing and previous reviews. Parking is almost impossible. The gallery is a big open easy space inside a well restored building. The stock, mostly paintings is, unfortunately, heavy going. The artists information explains that a lot of work has been done on commission forgo brewery and cafe chains and it looked as though a main off site exhibition had been in a car sales showroom. The artist is obviously commited and the work
generally lively and brash. Unfortunately the impression most of the work gave us was that of the quick robust and slightly derivative work of a
driven adolescent or bright sixth former. This work did not strike us as being the type of abstract art that you want in your home or office other than blocks of colour or an interior design accessory. Our view may place us in a small minority. This stuff sells. It also has the air of a prosperous business. Anything a bit different is a welcome addition to the Plymouth scene. Take your open mind and go look for yourselves. As the last reviewers have said, there are now some better eating options close by.

I enjoyed my visit to the gallery and thusly bought two paintings from here. The space is used well and the paintings are to my taste, obviously. Abstract art I understand is not for everyone but still worth the visit to expand your sensory boundaries and enjoy the colour and meaning behind the paintings. The sculptures also are something I am interested and hope to one day go back and purchase one. Also just to mention the area that the gallery is in is also very nicecto visit, what with the restaurants etc and mariner views.

Been to look a couple of times. Large pleasant space. Even got friends who have bought stuff. But it's mostly big in your face canvases with little subtlety or lasting impact. Not surprised at the lack of significant shows at important galleries, or that he has chosen RWY where folk with some disposable income and too much barren wall space need to make personal statements, preferably created by someone else. But this is Plymouth. Maybe there will be some profitable fall out and overlap when the earnest organic snackers come wandering through on their way to the soon to open River Cottage Canteen.
