We really enjoyed the tour. It was interesting and the young man who was our guide was clear, articulate and good humoured. We spent ages in the bar after the tour enjoying our free G&T and enjoying the wonderful ambiance. Would definitely recommend this.

I organized a group to take the above tour. Cost was about $30 USD (20 GBP). The tour was very informative. First we were given a detailed history of gin and of the distillery. Then we toured the plant. It was a bit disappointing that the actual processing was all behind lexan, as none of my photos came out well. There are few employees actually involved in the gin making process, so the odds are you might not see anybody at work creating the drink.

After that, we adjourned to a tasting room, and were given the chance to smell many of the aromatics used in gin production. There were covered samples waiting for us, and one by one we opened and sampled them. We were all given a sheet to rate the gins, and I give the place points for honesty. Maybe because our group was all from the US or Canada, Plymouth gin did not suit our tastes and took dead last in the ratings!

Even so, it was a great education in gin, and then we all chose either a free cocktail or free miniature bottle of gin to take home. It was a great choice for a rainy afternoon in Plymouth. While I've never been a gin fan, and remain that way, it was a very good tour.

PS-Be advised there are lockers for your purses/backpacks, etc. You can take pictures of the vats, but none during the tasting. That was a disappointment.

The tour, shop, restaurant and bar are all excellent. The tour is interesting and informative and very good value given the drink or minature each person receives at the end of the tour. Everything you could want from a gin distillery is available in the shop and is priced very reasonably. We have only eaten in the restaurant once or twice but on each occasion the food and service have both been really good. My favorite, though is the bar. The bar tenders are knowledgeable, friendly and professional and the surroundings are lovely. I recommend it all !

Went into this place last night for the 1st time and what a let down. If you are looking to have a good night out and a couple of laughs don't go to this place. The staff were so uptight and you are almost expected to drink in silence. I would rather go home than go back to this place.

We went on the tour of the distillery last week and at £7.00 for about half an hour, this is not really that good value for money.
The lady guide was knowledgeable and knew her stuff, but also spoke to people as if they were stupid on a couple of occassions, when people were asking perfectly sensible questions if they know nothing about the history of making gin.
You do get a voucher for £1.00 off a purchase from the shop and a voucher for a minature or a gin and tonic at the end of the visit.
