I was a nice diversion, I had hoped to see the process but they took you to a small room upstairs and showed you the botanicals that go into their gin. They had a little tasting and then took you off to the shop.
Ken.

Had a young chap who was being trained giving the tour initially, but thankfully the more experienced tour guide who was teaching him took over part-way and we started to learn loads (no offence - he will get there in the end and we all have to start somewhere).

Learned loads about the production of gin. This gin in particular is quite different in quality to the well-known brands in the marketplace. We're not great gin drinkers, so it was really interesting to taste the difference. Lovely bar to take advantage of your included free drink after the tour. We would have uploaded some photos, but you can't take them and have to leave your phones and cameras in the free lockers beforehand.

One fact we will remember for a long time to come is that this place was where the Mayflower pilgrims spent their last night. Drinking gin at a guess.

The only downside to the tour is the parking in Plymouth. It's very hard to get a decent space nearby for free. Don't the local council want people to spend time and spend money here?

Highly recommended so came here at seven pm before my sister's birthday supper over at the Noodle Lounge. Turned away because you have to belong to their private membership club or have eaten at the Barbican Kitchen in the same building. Odd way to run a business. Given the squawking, earthy language of the underclad broad local accented and already lubricated groups of girls who elbowed their way past, there is obviously nothing very smart about the clientele, although the tantalising glimpse we caught of the beamed high ceilinged bar room, it could be a cool place to kick off an evening. As for us we just felt cold shouldered and unwanted.

Enjoy the tour, shop and restaurant - if you are in Plymouth it is the best place to spend a few hours.
