“Plymouth - The Ocean City”

Plymouth is a great place to visit, it has a good shopping experience, the Moors to the North, Sea and sand to the South & West. The diamond of Plymouth is the Hoe where Sir Francis Drake played bowls before defeating the Spanish Armada in the Channel. Beautiful views overlooking Drakes Island and looking over to Mount Edgecombe in Cornwall. A great place to live and visit.

“PLYMOUTH HOE”

Superb view of Plymouth Sound, Drake's Island and Mount Edgecumbe. There is a swimming pool and small cafes. On a clear day the Eddystone lighthouse can be seen (14 miles away) to the right of the Breakwater. The historic Barbican is about 15 minute stroll past the Citadel. Great place for adults and children to play and enjoy the view. There are charges for parking.

“Wonderful views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

A walk along the Hoe any time, but especially on a sunny day is uplifting, with plenty of coffee & snack stops. Great for families who can enjoy the activities on West Hoe or couples wanting a relaxing walk down through the Barbican. Not to be missed.

Plymouth Hoe is a must for all visitors to Plymouth with is historic lighthouse and spectacular views over Plymouth sound.
Take a walk around the Plymouth Barbican and visit the Elizabethan House, gin distillery and old back streets. Plenty of shops and pubs serving good food
