A great place to start a walk around the city. Fantastic views out to sea and across Plymouth Sound Mount Edgecombe in Cornwall. Easy access to the Barbican and the Mayflower Steps.

This was not as enjoyable as I thought it would be. The view is fantastic from the top but the I could not relax as the pod does not feel very stable and even the slightest movement made the pod rock. This does not have the same solid feel as the London eye & I could not wait to get off. My 3 & 7 year olds were also fairly scared of the movement. We did not pay full price but I think the price for a family of 4 is well over priced for what you get.

A great place to wander and enjoy whatever the weather, great on a sunny day, broody in the rain and wind. Always something different to see in the Sound!

Lovely views of Plymouth Sound, space for children to run around and let off steam, sensory garden and several watering holes offering snacks and drinks. West Hoe park is a hidden family attraction with good free play area, crazy golf course, and bouncy castle all for small charge.

There can be no finer place in the country for getting spectacular views of the sea than Plymouth Hoe. Many events have been held here in recent times or longer ago. Important personalities in the boating world were in accord in commending this fine amphitheatre which gave spectators a brilliant view of all the yacht racing activities during the UK leg of the America Cup a couple of years ago. Every year in August the National Fireworks Championships are held here and again spectators are afforded an excellent opportunity to watch these splendid pyrotechnic displays. Sir Francis Chichester landed here in 1967 after his round-the world adventure in his famous boat. Apart from all these historic major events, anyone coming on holiday to Plymouth can just walk round the Hoe promenade, passing the landmark of Smeaton Tower lighthouse and enjoy the therapeutic pleasure of taking in the inspiring seascape and refreshing sea air. There is no place on earth that can give such nautical pleasure on land! Anyone who has not been uplifted by this experience should come along and find the magic!
