“Perfect for a Romantic Walk”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

If you start from the Barbican and walk your way upto the Hoe you will forget life's hassles. You'll be surrounded by the chilly winds and sound of the light waves of the sea. And when you reach the Hoe, stop for a while and watch the sea and the beauty around. You will be mesmerised.
There are not many people around, its perfectly clean, and always a treat to the eyes. People of Plymouth are lucky to have Hoe. Ive visited this beauty twice and find it very peaceful. I just sit down on the bench with my husband and we stare the view. There are many restaurants around too. There is a small cafe behind the spanish tapas restro down the Hoe, where I had hot chocolate, and it tasted divine, not just because it was yum, but when you sit somewhere with a view so beautiful, it becomes special. I recommend that to everyone.
If you are visiting Plymouth, your visit will only be complete if you visit Hoe. I also recommend starting from Barbican as your way upto the Hoe, instead of going via City Centre. Its not bad either, but less special.

“Hoe Hum”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

The various memorials were interesting but apart from that there was a lack of character for what is supposed to be a UK landmark. At least the Drake hyperbole was left to Buckland Abbey
