“Good shop and cafe/diner.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

Seems to have become more welcoming since the shop opened. Previously the bustling cafe was almost always full of groups of Kurdish patrons all speaking their own language and possible not expecting locals or visitors. That seems to be markedly changed. We have eaten twice and enjoyed the buzz.

“Nawroz expanding, now has an excellent food shop next door.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

I like this cafe restaurant. It is completely authentic but contemporary and has a buzz about it. The food is great and now to the left there is a delightful shop selling all the ingredients and brands necessary for these dishes but not readily available locally. If your are down at the dying end of town but can spare the time to dart across Western Approach to look in here you will not be disappointed. In this most unlikely corner there is a lot going on. A constant stream of people in and out of Stonehouse? Narwoz is doing its bit among many other businesses to bring the place back to life. Pity that as Narwoz thrives, sadly Jerkys Caribbean cafe has just closed over on the other side of the dual carriageway.

“Tripadvisor, please correct the name to Nawroz.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2012

I suggested this listing and wrote the first review. I got the spelling wrong having misread the then sign. On my three subsequent visits I have had enjoyable unusual and well cooked meals in friendly company. This is a good place and highly recommended. It deserves to have its correct name on its listing.

“Some call and spell it 'Nawroz'.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2012

Likeable and busy Kurdish cafe and a bit of takeaway. Very close to Frankfurt Gate and the city centre. Interesting mixture of food, plainly enjoyed by Plymouth Kurds. Seats packed in and always busy. Not much English spoken. But very friendly and no awkwardness with monolingual Devonians. Like it.

“Mostly Kurdish patrons and food style.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2011

Very busy and bustling small cafe just by exit to Toys 'R Us multi-storey car park, this place has been a successful venue for five or more years catering predominantly for Kurdish asylum seekers, those with permanent leave to stay and full blown immigrant from north western Iraq and Turkey. Seemed to be very welcoming to outsiders and there were. Also a few English people there. Mixed ethnic and European food but a very upbeat and distinct flavour to the food and atmosphere. A low key adventure onto a different world. Obviously doing well and completely integrated to neighbourhood.
