Description: A well established bar and bistro doing a brisk trade in above average pub food. Situated on the Queen Anne's Battery complex just to the east of the entrance to Sutton Harbour Plymouth alongside the larger busier of the active yachting marinas this place offers above average food, has a large popular outdoor eating area overlooking the Marina and Plymouth Sound. This is a good place to eat and drink and although well known to locals especially sailors is just a bit off the beaten track for other visitors. Worth an entry.

“Dated and drab”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2014 via mobile

Ate here with the wife and mother in law. They both thought it was some kind of joke.

The food was cold and soggy ( defrosted in a hurry no doubt)
And presented with little care, limp and undesirable.

The starters came out a little to quick and our main almost on top of them

The old couple who run it constantly interfere and ruin what should be a calm relaxing experience. My party all felt incredibly uncomfortable.

The young lady serving was a delight. It's just a shame her backdrop is tired shabby and desperate to be something it's not.

Want a burger? Go to M&S and make your own as these are dreadful
And the beer battered cod can be found elsewhere too, easily bettered

the menu lacks inspiration and as do the fittings and fixtures

“Plain sailing? Plain awful!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

The owners are vile, repugnant imbeciles who belittle and berate there staff in full view of customers for little or no reason.
The food is of very poor quality
and all frozen despite what the manager will tell you.
And the young lad serving has no sense of 'banter'

Avoid at all costs

Head to the William yard or the Millay area for more professional and personal dining experience
With fresh cooked and sourced produce
This outfit is run by clueless armatures and I real feel for the poor staff who have to endure this level of public abuse

“Having a quiet year?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2014

Over the years I have been here several times. Perhaps less over the last two or three years because it's been quieter and it need a bit of bustle and life to make it more enjoyable. Used in the old days to come over after work to check on the boat, meet a few mates and wind down after the stresses of earning a crust. Those days have gone. Now you can be sat with maybe only half a dozen others gazing out over the cars and wondering where it might be worth moving on to for a bit of fun. Maybe the owner here needs to rethink and trigger some reinvigoration.

“Empty on a perfect balmy evening at QAB.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2014

After supper over on the Barbican we came here just before dusk for some drinks before going back to the boat. It was a perfect July Thursday evening, no wind, slightly pink sky and very warm. This cafe was empty inside and out. Some garish rid lighting has been installed since our last visit which does nothing to enhance the feel of the place and had certainly not attracted any punters. Service was OK and the drinks quite expensive. Inside felt, even at 9pm as though they were waiting to shut and outside was a right in amongst the car park. Several warships moored in a line across the horizon of the sound, some trawlers queuing to enter the lock and several boat owners strolling back to the pontoons gave a little life to the area but Chandlers doesn't add much and at the moment doesn't seem to have any appeal or to have caught the zeitgeist. The large number of diners and drinkers up on the balconies of the Royal Western Yacht Club seemed to having a whale of a time.
