As a family we have been to several theatres including a few in London. For seating and viewing in my opinion it hasn't been beaten yet.

Newly refurbished the theatre offers a variety of programmes through the year. Brining big West End musicals or drama it is the place to go in Plymouth for wonderful entertainment. Offering two theatres, the Drum and the Lyric there is something for everyone. Sit back and enjoy.

This was my first visit to this theatre. It was a family outing with 2 small grandchildren in tow. It was a wonderful experience enjoyed by all (3 adults + 2 children). The seating was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great to see the theatre packed, despite the slightly expensive ticket price, most especially for children, and it would surely benefit from some better 'family' deals. I was impressed enough with the venue and the show to go online to find out the benefit of joining a membership/yearly subscription but sadly the deals were not really available. I would happily go again to a show, it was a fabulous evening, but it will be reserved for special occassions when money is not quite so important a consideration!

Hi Fiona, thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased to hear that your family had a great time at the theatre and that your experience was a pleasant one! Thanks for your suggestions regarding ‘family’ deals – we are always keen to hear the suggestions of patrons. It is worth noting that for some productions (such as our pantomime each year) we do family ticket offers. As for the yearly subscription/memberships, we were wondering if you came across our Mailing Club membership service. For £5 each year you can received priority access to order tickets and the brochure posted direct to you three times a year.

Thanks again for your kind words, we look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

If travelling from away, recommend booking a table in the restaurant for a meal before the show - staff welcoming and looked after us well, offering to serve our desserts an drink order at our table during the interval - so efficient. Saw "Happy Days the Musical" excellent show but sad to see the theatre less than half-full (maybe ticket costs prohibitive?)

We took our son here last Christmas and had the best time! I think the adults enjoyed dick Whittington more than him though!

Hi AimiW!

Thanks for your review. It is often the case that the adults go along for the children but end up enjoying it just as much (or more)! Make sure you come back this year for Jack and the Beanstalk!
