Nothing negative to say during my stay. Great location, staff and a good room rate. I can not comment about breakfast as I didn't have it,though it was included in my rate.
There are newer properties but this is still a great choice.

Stayed here for one night, in March 2013. Two double rooms booked. Rooms in major need of re-furbishment although I believe some rooms have been done up. We were given one room which had not been refurbed, and one room which had. The room which had been modernised was disappointing, the carpet, which was cream was stained and worn and bathrooms hardly touched, very old fashioned for todays day and age. The bedroom also still housed the old style ceiling fans. Disappointed. Our room which had not been done up at all could be understood. All in all the rooms were very clean. The rest of the hotel was as expected for a Copthorne. The staff are very welcoming, very friendly and accommodating and ensure you are well looked after.

Nothing bad to say about this hotel...a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss, but the accommodation was spacious and very comfortable.

All the staff were very courteous and nothing was too much trouble.

Lots of entertainment on the TV, reasonable quality although rather pricey packed lunches, nice food in the restaurant and a warm atmosphere in the bar.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side were quieter, away from Sainsbury's and it's air con unit. The fourt...

Pro's: Central to city, short walk to pavillions, parking is in basement and very secure, staff are friendly and i would like to mention the bar man that arranged for us to have sandwiches at late notice & late at night as we hadn't had tea and the porter who was very friendly. Hotel is very clean & towels are fresh and fluffy. Shower really powerful :-)

Cons: Rooms are dated, and we found the bed to be uncomfortable (but everyones type is different), at 530 am there was a banging noise for quite a long time...we think it was the heating in pipes which woke us up. Our room was situated overlooking a supermarket carpark. Parking is £6. Could this not be included in price for guests?

Tip: book via laterooms! We were quoted £72 for standard double, went on laterooms.com 5 mins later and got room for £42 (not including breakfast)

We stayed here for a long weekend and upgraded. The location is great for town and easy base to wander around.

The rooms are very dated (although roomy) and when comparing to other hotels with regards the price plus you have to pay for parking it was not cheaper.

Breakfast on the Friday was disappointing but it seemed they bought/made fresh pastries and bread rolls for the weekend visitors. Along with making fresh coffee rather than instant, which meant it was better Saturday morning!

Ok but nothing special especially for romantic weekends.

Several members of my family have stayed here at various times over the past two years to visit our offspring at the University, and we have all been satisfied. The rooms are comfortable, the staff extremely helpful and location in Plymouth suitable for our needs.
We have teenagers in our parties who are happy to stay here ..
I won't even bother looking at any other hotels in Plymouth anymore as I know everything is fine, we have stayed in other Copthorne Hotels and the standard is always excellent.
