We just come back from a cycling holiday on Exmoor, and we had such a great time staying with them that I registered on TripAdvisor just to write this review. I would recommend Pine Lodge to anyone who wants to visit the area.

We stayed at three places for this trip, and Pine Lodge is without any doubt the best! We were given the warmest welcome on arrival, and I was so happy as we walked into our room. It was lovely and spotlessly clean, super comfortable bed, and great bathroom. We were worried about where to store our bike initially, but the owner kindly provided us with a secure shed behind the car park, which was the best we could have asked for. So highly recommended for cyclists to stay!

The breakfast was fantastic. We are quite spoiled at home with cooked meal, fresh fruits and yoghurt every morning, and we were served the same here, only the variety was even greater! For us two cyclists riding 30 miles a day in the hills, this was perfect for us to start off a day. The owner also gave us a lot of good suggestions on where to eat and ride.

We had to laundry for our trip because we didn't want to carry too much stuff riding across the moor. They helped us drying the clothes when we are out in the day, so we wouldn't end up without cycling clothes the next day.

The house itself is in a beautiful setting, a quite and lovely short walk away from the Lynton town centre. Lynton boasts beautiful walking paths and cycling routes around. Be prepared with lots of 1:5 hills!

A big welcome, complete with cake. lots of good advice and a lovely room. I think the best part is the view and overall position of Pine Lodge, the short walk into Lynton is a pleasure. Excellent breakfast, keep up the good work, see you again soon.

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the front with the view.

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 day break at Pine Lodge. We were made more than welcome and chatted to the very friendly owners over tea and cake. They were very helpful in suggesting places to eat or to visit and knew the area very well for walking. The area is stunning and ideal for walkers. The rooms were immaculately clean, and the beds were very comfortable. There was a choice of breakfast and fresh fruit on offer every day. We would recommend Pine lodge to anyone wanting to visit the area. Excellent value for money and we will be back again. Thank you John and Linda for making us so welcome.

We arrived at Pine Lodge for a one night stay on the 3rd of August. We were greeted at the door warmly by John, who introduced himself and showed us to the room. After offering us some tea and cake (which we gratefully accepted and were served in the lovely light dining room) John eft us to get acquainted with our room for our stay. The room itself was spacious, with lots of light from the big window, which gave a lovely view of the valley. Every inch of the room was impeccably clean and a pleasure to stay in.

We came with a rough plan of what we wanted to do during our stay in Lynton, but John and Linda were very helpful in suggesting more things we hadnt thought of, and helpful ''non tourist'' routes to walk around. This led to us walking around the Valley of the Rocks, taking in the spectacular views from the coastal path, before riding the famous funicular railway, allowing us to take in both Lynton and Lynmouth. For our evening meal we had a choice of a few restaurants in Lynton, all varied, so anybody would be catered for, my only suggestion would be booking earlier in the day, especially on a Friday or Saturday!

After a perfect night sleep, we were served breakfast. Having plenty of choice between the breakfast buffet, a traditional english breakfast, scrambled eggs, omelette ... and more that I'm probably forgetting. I went with the english breakfast and it was 100% perfect, freshly cooked and just what was needed to set us up for the day.

The second day of our stay was accompanied by wet weather, in contrast to the sunshine the day before, however John and Linda were extremely helpful in suggesting things to do which wouldnt involve us getting wet at all. Upon checking out we were seen off by the owners, making the few yards walk to the perfectly placed parking spaces.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pine Lodge and would 100% recommend it to anybody thinking of visiting Lynton or Lynmouth or the surrounding area. Its position on the side of the valley is both picturesque and convenient, being only a ten minute walk, or a two minute drive from Lynton town centre. The room was impeccably clean, with an amazing view, a real pleasure to sleep in.

Above all of these good points, the main reason I'd reccomend Pine Lodge is the amazing hospitality from the owners John and Linda, from the first minute of our stay they made us feel welcome, they were both exceptionally helpful, without being intrusive at all. They really do deserve every bit of praise ive given them in this review!

My husband and I have just returned from a four night stay at Pine lodge. We decided to book a short break having noted the excellent reviews from other guests.
We were greeted in the car park on arrival and shown up to our suite (room 5).Tea and cake was then offered and served in the quest lounge which was most welcome. John and Linda the owners gave us information regarding breakfast and asked if we had any specific requirements, they also provided information on local eateries for evening meals and a made us feel most welcome before we returned to our room to unpack. The suite, which consisted of a large bedroom, separate lounge and bathroom was beautiful, The double bed had Egyptian cotton linen and was very comfortable. The bathroom had a lovely modern suite with bath / shower and the most soft white towels, plus all other quality essentials, shower gel /shampoo etc. The lounge area had a very large TV, comfy sofa and tea and coffee making facilities and homemade cookies.
Breakfast was superb, cereals, fresh fruits with homemade yoghurt, fruit juices and then a choice of traditional full English, Scrambled egg with smoked salmon, Omelette or bacon sandwich. toast and tea or coffee. I varied my cooked breakfast during the stay and everyone was perfection. Each day we spoke with John and Linda who gave us ideas of where to visit to make the most of our visit. The area is just so picturesque and you can take a lovely walk down from the guest house to Lynton and then down again to Lynmouth. We went on various walks, the gorge in Lynmouth, Selworthy, Tarr Steps, Ilfracombe Harbour, Minehead , Porlock Weir.
The area is both beautiful to drive around and walk and will certainly build up your leg muscles and burn off the calories from the wonderful food at guest house and from the delicious Cream teas on offer as you travel around. Thanks go to both John and Linda who are a really lovely couple for making our short break perfect. It is clearly obvious that they are passionate about the facilities and service they provide to their guests.
