We very much enjoyed our one-night stay at the Exmoor Manor Hotel... the current owners have done a great job of tastefully modernizing the hotel while keeping its historic features. Our room and ensuite were very comfortable and clean and overlooked an attractive side garden and fields stretching up the hill. We had made dinner reservations but, due to horrendous traffic, arrived much later than expected... still the staff went out of their way to make us welcome and provided a delicious dinner in the Beggars Roost restaurant and bar... washed down with excellent beer!

My Husband and I stayed one night here, absolutely brilliant. We set off early from home, so having set off with the Hotels address as our SatNav destination we arrived at 9.45 am, we popped in to just let them know we were around, Kevin was very helpful on things to do and see as we didnt know the area at all, then Jan said oh your rooms ready, so completely unexpected we were in our room enjoying a cuppa by 10am, then off out for the day.
Lovely couple, room was a good size and clean, fridge very useful too.
Definately stay here again

Another great stay at the Exmoor Manor (see previous review from September 2017) and it was just as good, if not better.

Standards have certainly not slipped: the hotel is still immaculate, with the room very clean, spacious and well-equipped. Kevin & Jan were great hosts again. Food was possibly even better than the last time we stayed, with the sticky toffee pudding meriting a special mention (good thing there are plenty of countryside & coastal walks nearby to burn off the calories!). Even the weather was on our side this time!

The hotel is still excellent value for money and we have already booked another stay in a few months time.

What a really lovely hotel, run by Jan and Kev. who will do anything to make your stay. Breakfasts are served in the hotel building with dinner being served in the Beggars Roost pub next door, both are excellent and plentiful.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Exmoor Manor Hotel / Beggars Roost Inn and have had a wonderful time.

The room was warm, quiet and comfortable.
The food was amazing, both breakfast and dinner being tasty, cooked to perfection and well presented. In addition great lengths were taken by the chef and management to cater for my gluten free requirements.

The pub was very inviting and comfortable with a good range of local beers and ciders. There was a great atmosphere with very friendly staff and a good mix of customers, both tourists and locals. We were made to feel very welcome and included in all the chat and gossip.

At the time we visited there was temporary management, but you wouldn't know. Tristan and Naomi were brilliant, they couldn't do enough for us and with their lovely young daughter, made us feel part of the family.

If we visit the area again we will definitely return to Beggars Roost.
