“Good job we weren't in a hurry”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

We spent an entertaining 20 minutes, while we waited to be served, watching the other customers either being ignored or having the wrong things brought to them and then being whisked away again. The young waitress eventually put our empty cups in front of us and helpfully explain that they were " two cups". Our slices of lemon cake were so cold, that they clearly had recently come from the fridge or freezer and certainly not freshly baked but were better than the very burnt tea cake that my friend got. At least we weren't served by the very fierce owner who appeared before we left and shouted at the waitresses.

“Good value and delicious food.”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

Visited Lacey's for tea a few weeks ago. The prices and choice very good. Service was quick and portions generous. Very quick service and delicious food.Staff friendly too.
Will definitely visit again when next visiting Lynton..N.B. Last food orders were before 6.30pm, so not the place to go if you wish to eat later.

“Friendly, but unable to make decent coffee”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Nice little cafe, just had a quick stop for coffee. Asked for cappuccino, but we both got a very milky latte-type coffee with a bit of froth and chocolate powder on the top. When we looked surprised, the lovely lady serving gave us a cup of black coffee to add to the drinks. She said that the tall glasses wouldn't fit under the machine..... perhaps use large cups and not latte glasses?.. on the plus side, the hot chocolate one of our party had was described as 'perfect'. Would go back again for the hot chocolate, but if you like your coffee on the stronger side, this is not the place for you.
