Twin Room was big with lots of room and recently redecorated ... bed a little hard for my liking but then I realise you cant please everybody there.

Room also clean and tidy, only problem I found with the room was the noise in the street late at night ... but I am a light sleeper.

Breakfast was good, Evening food was also good although a little limited, most things served with chips.

Parking was good ... once you suss out how to get there :-)

Overall I would use again if I didnt have a room that fronted onto the street.

Room Tip: Rooms looking out on the Street are noisy at the weekend

Very good value. Family run and very caring. Family room double bunk for kids and main room with a double. A bit dated but very comfortable despite the ensuite down a steep step in a corner. Pub and pub food very good. Owners there since August and are starting to do up the bedrooms, the price reflects this. Breakfast is continental except at weekends.Owners could not have been more helpful. Would go again.

Frequented this Hotel on a number of evenings whilst staying a week in Lynton.

Very friendly welcome from staff and locals, great bar to side with real ales, bit dated but very characterful, and a log burner.

Good selection of bar meals at reasonable prices, food was very good and side salad accompanying the scampi was excellent and well presented.

Would definitely visit again and if staying at Lynton would consider this location as my first option.

Had an enjoyable one night stay at this characterful hotel. Made very welcome and had a great night in the bar on their 40's themed evening. Not only are dogs welcome in the bar but a local chap had brought along his ferret! Our rooms were warm, clean and comfortable and my sister even got a four poster bed so she was delighted. The bar meal was good pub grub with generous portions. Breakfast was continental style, which was fine by me but sister and daughter would have liked a fry up. For what we paid I thought our stay was excellent value.

A traditional Hotel / Village Pub in keeping with the charm and appeal of the area, central to all local amenities and an excellent base for touring North Devon.
We were slightly concerned about staying in a hotel for the first time with our Doberman; however we needn’t have worried, whether in the hotel or bar she soon became a pampered pooch.
Tristan, Naomi, Christine and their staff were excellent hosts, attentive and genuinely sociable, nothing was too much trouble.
Our spacious room was clean, had all the home comforts and the added novelty of a four poster bed.
If you enjoy the lively atmosphere of a traditional pub night out then the Crown’s Bar is for you, great selection of ales, welcoming staff, friendly locals and true dog lovers.
Alternatively, if you prefer quieter surroundings, eat in the restaurant, the meals we had were excellent but make sure you have a large appetite.
Thanks for a most enjoyable stay and excellent value; we hope to return again soon.

This is a lovely "old worldy hotel" with lots of period charm and warmth with a welcome second to none. My friends said they wanted a stay in a hotel with character and we found just the place.

The landlord and lady Tristan and Naomi make you very welcome with their freindly relaxed approach and nothing is too much trouble, They also welcome families with pets so appeal to all. .
arriving early evening of the friday we offered shown to our room with a nice four poster bad and lovely pressed white linen. Once we accepted our room we were ade to feel at home and like one of the locals, who frequently use this hotel bar. Joey has a fantastic sense of humour and knows how to have a good bit of banter with visitors and locals alike, making everyone feel involved.

The rooms are clean and well appointed and there are lovely little touches like toilletries, and nothing is too much trouble like extra fresh milk for teas in your room in the morning, to special requests for the plating of extra roast dinner for one of our party to take home.

Well the food, what can I say the policy here is great home cooked food in abundance, all freshly produced and supplied by local businesses. The sunday roast is to die for with so much vairiety in the veg and meat. You wont be able to move afterwards but then you can sit by the fire and just join in with banter in the bar.

We will certainly will be returning again and again to this fab little haven in Lynton

What a wonderful hotel & very lovely staff.
We stayed here for 5 days over new year and we had a blast, the room was fantastic, the food was great along wiv the prices. The owners Tristan & Naomi & their staff made the holiday perfect.

We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Highly recommended
