Emma and Alistair really made us feel at home during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble . This was the friendliest and most comfortable place we have ever stayed.. The whole building is spotless and it is very obvious that both of them have put in a lot of effort maintaining very high standards. The little extras like fresh milk being available and a lovely selection of toiletries in the bathroom were most appreciated. The breakfasts were delicious, that says it all. Don't forget to ask for the story behind the jelly beans!
Anyone wishing to stay in Lynton really should contact Castle Hill Guest House first.

We have just spent a few days at the Castle Hill Guest House, which is the friendliest and most comfortable place we have stayed in a long time, breakfasts are freshly cooked and very tasty with everything that you could think of and then some. Our hosts Emma and Al were attentive and took very good care of us, it was a real pleasure to spend time with them and thanks for all the info on the area, as we had a great time whilst out and about thanks to you both. Hope to come and stay again in the future.

Room Tip: our suite room no.1. was comfy and very roomy with a lovely balcony and view.

Emma and Alistair are such warm and welcoming hosts we immediately felt relaxed and at home in their guest house. Our room, which was towards the rear of the premises, was spacious, fresh, clean, comfortable and very well maintained as was the whole of the guest house. Breakfast was perfect. We only booked for two nights but should have stayed longer as Lynton is a beautiful area to explore. Emma and Alistair are very passionate about their business and thoroughly deserve their number 1 ranking amongst Lynton's B&Bs - it was certainly the best accommodation we stayed in during our 2 week exploration of England's south west.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Castle Hill Guest House as we met with relatives in Lynton. From a supremely friendly reception to exceptional breakfasts in a warm environment , this was a delightful experience that we would recommend to anyone. My wife had a manicure from Emma which was an unexpected extra. We will certainly be back the next time we are in Lynton.

I don't know why we've never stayed with Emma and Alistair before as we travel to Lynton every year for a bit of walking pilgrimage. This time we took our son Declan (9) instead of our Jack Russell as unfortunately they don't accommodate dogs, however the overwhelming welcome from Alistair was fantastic, tea in the lounge and a chat made us feel like we've known them for years. We had room 2 which had a lounge with a sofa bed for our son. It faced onto the road but if anyone knows Lynton its not exactly a main through fare for traffic so was very quiet. We enjoyed a darts match in the evening in the bar area (honesty bar with a wide range of drinks) and retired to the luxury of Egyptian cotton bedding. Emma did a fantastic job of cooking breakfast, with local, handmade sausages which Alistair had blind tested along with 17 others. Overall, nothing was too much trouble and we'd love to go back.

Room Tip: Room 2 if you are a couple with one child.

Even better than last time!
Thank you to Emma and Alistair for wonderful hospitality, great breakfasts, a warm welcome and great local knowledge.
The iPod docking station was a great addition. Being able to have a treat at Emma's salon really made this a lovely relaxing break.
We are planning our next trip!
