“Fantastic weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2012 via mobile

Perfect place for a relaxing weekend. Looking forward to returning soon. The hotel and surroundings are amazing. Very friendly and caring hosts. Lynmouth is a great place for river and coastal walks. British countryside at it's best.

A visit to Lynmouth and a stay at Bonnicott House will do you the world of good.

Bonnicott House is perfectly situated with panoramic views from its spacious lounge and adjacent dining room; the sea and the river valley provide a tranquil and beautiful setting.

The owners, Jeremy and Jeannie, are perfect hosts. They are very friendly and maintain a very clean character building - and Jeannie's cuisine is delicious and varied.

We are looking forward to our next stay at Bonnicott House. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have visited several times so we are now greeted as friends. Jeremy and Jeanne are always offering extra service, tea, coffee would you like a newspaper and always asking if there is anything extra they can do. They are particularly friendly and helpfull. The menu is extensive and imaginative and the cooking and presentation is beyond compare. The biggest problem is arriving at a decision as to what to order.

Room Tip: If your idea is to experience total comfort I would go for the more expensive rooms for views and fo...

My husband and I stayed here with a group of 20 others as part of a Duke of Edinburgh group and it was absolutely fantastic. Like others have said, Jeremy and Jeannie go beyond and above the call of duty and they literally make you feel like you are family straight away. From the moment we stepped in it was like we were visiting friends with them bringing us tea and teacakes. A few hours later before dinner Jeannie remembered me saying that my husband liked spicy food so she gave him a snack (more like dinner!) of her personal Indian food! Although I don't eat spicy food, she didn't leave me out but rustled up some lemon and sugar pancakes, which I didn't ask for but was super tasty too.

Such a warm and wonderful experience and we will definitely be back. The best B and B I've ever stayed in.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be nice but we stayed in the room with the 4 poster bed which was nice and near th...

Thank you so much, Jeanne and Jeremy, for a top notch stay in every way. Really comfortable bed, & beautiful room, with lovely touches (e.g. decanter of sherry - which I didn't touch, honest :-)). Absolutely superb breakfast & dinner, & you made us feel really personally welcome. I even got a surprise birthday present from you! :-). Fabulous memories.

We had the pleasure in staying at Bonnicott house Saturday 8th July for 1 night, really wish we could have stay longer. We had travelled up from the North East and arrived earlier than we had thought. We found a little coffee shop on the corner and had a cream tea whilst we waited about 30 mins before check in. At Bonniecott were greeted by Jeanne and Jeremy who really cant do enough for you, some people go that extra mile in providing good service, they do a marathon on a daily basis. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. Firstly Jeanne was cross that we had not let her give us coffee in the lounge whilst the room was being made ready for us, and it just went on from there. Our room was a four poster room with gorgeous rich colours and beautiful cotton sheets. We decided after the long journey we would have dinner at Bonnicott, the menu sounded superb. We made our choice and headed out for the afternoon. When we arrived back it was so nice to have a shower, sit and watch the stunning view with a sherry provided in the room " very civilized ". We headed down to the lounge where you are free to help yourself to drinks from the well stocked bar. Its based on an honesty system so you write down your purchases and its later added to you bit. There is also a good selection of crisps and nibbles which are complimentary. Dinner is served in the most beautiful dining room with crisp white linen and overlooking the harbour. The standard, quality and presentation of the food was absolutely amazing, I can only compare it to the food we had in the 5* Versace hotel in OZ and it was truly as good as that for a fraction of the price. The breakfast menu had everything from full english, smoked haddock and salmon etc,it was a difficult decision. There were the freshest raspberries, strawberries, melon along with local honey, jams cereals' along with much, much more. To try and sum up the lengths Jeanne and Jeremy will go for you. During dinner on Saturday evening we mention to Jeremy that my husband likes to watch F1, as it was silverstone that Sunday he really would have like to watch it. I simply asked if we could get Sunday lunch anywhere so Trev could watch the race. He left us for a second and returned asking if we would like to have roast beef or roast lamb for lunch, my hubby was so pleased. After breakfast sunday morning we had a wander round the town, when we returned Jeanne and Jeremy had set up in the lounge a little table all beautifully set so he would watch the F1 whilst we had lunch. What a delicious lunch it was too!! They are truly a cut above the rest. If your planning a stay in the area they really are worth giving your custom too, you wont regret it. The home made muffins Jeanne gave us to take home are also delicious, Iv had 2 for breakfast this morning!! Thank you once again and hope to see you very soon.
